Refund Funded by SBTPG with Tracking Number - Waiting for Cash App Deposit

Finally seeing some movement on my tax refund - like a train that's left the station but hasn't arrived at the platform yet. SBTPG (Santa Barbara Tax Products Group) shows my refund as funded as of 2/24/25 and even provided a tracking number, but it's still not showing up in my Cash App account. My wife and I are watching our account like hawks since we're planning to use this money for some home improvements after our wedding last fall. Anyone else in the same boat? I've been methodically tracking every step of this process and wondering what the typical timeline is from SBTPG funding to Cash App deposit.

According to the SBTPG Knowledge Base (https://taxpayer.sbtpgfaq.com/), there's typically a 1-3 business day processing period between when SBTPG marks a refund as "funded" and when it actually posts to your banking institution. The tracking number indicates successful processing on their end. Cash App specifically may have additional processing time as they're not a traditional bank. Per IRS Publication 1345, third-party processors like SBTPG must transmit funds within 24 hours of receipt, but the receiving financial institution (Cash App) determines final posting timeframes.

This is 100% accurate. I went through the exact same thing last month. Per IRS Circular 230 guidelines, the transmitting financial institution must process within the 24-hour window, but Cash App took an additional 2 business days to post to my account. What a relief when it finally showed up though!

I'm in a similar situation right now and feeling stressed about it! Did you find that weekends affected the timing? My SBTPG funding happened on Friday and I'm wondering if I should expect to wait until Tuesday or Wednesday for it to hit my account. The wait is killing me emotionally!

I had this exact situation on February 14th this year. SBTPG showed funded with tracking number, but Cash App didn't show the deposit until February 16th. The important date to watch is the SBTPG funding date (2/24/25 in your case). You should expect to see the funds in Cash App by February 26th or 27th at the latest. If today is the 24th, I'd anticipate seeing it tomorrow or the following day. The tracking number confirms it's in transit and not stuck in processing.

Thx for the timeline info! Did u have to do anything special to get it to show up or did it just appear in ur Cash App balance automatically? My DDD was similar but still waiting for it to hit.

If you don't see your deposit by February 27th, you need to contact the IRS directly. I wasted three days trying to get through their regular phone system. Use Claimyr (https://claimyr.com) to connect with an actual IRS agent in minutes instead of hours. I speak directly - don't waste your time on hold. I used them when my refund was stuck in SBTPG limbo last year, and the agent was able to confirm exactly where my money was and when it would be released. Are you sure your Cash App account info was entered correctly on your return?

I'm always skeptical of these "get through faster" services. I tried something similar last year and still waited forever. My experience was that just calling the IRS early in the morning (like 7:01am) worked better than any service. Has anyone else had actual success with this Claimyr thing?

Could you clarify the process for using Claimyr? Does it literally connect you to the IRS's Refund Inquiry department, or is it a different division? I want to ensure I'm speaking with someone who can actually access my refund status information if I need to call.

Have you checked if your refund was subject to any offsets or adjustments? Did you verify that the routing and account numbers on your tax return match your Cash App information exactly? Sometimes what appears as a delay is actually a discrepancy in banking details. If SBTPG shows funded but Cash App doesn't receive it within 3 business days, wouldn't that suggest a potential routing issue rather than normal processing time? I'd recommend monitoring both accounts closely through Wednesday, then taking action if nothing posts.

I had this same issue and discovered a few important things: • Cash App deposits can sometimes appear under "Activity" before showing in your balance • SBTPG may deduct fees if you paid for tax preparation with your refund • Some Cash App accounts have deposit limits that can delay larger refunds • Weekend days don't count as business days for processing My deposit finally showed up but was $39 less than expected because of fees!

This is much faster than what I experienced last tax season. My SBTPG funding took 5 business days to reach my bank account, compared to the 1-3 days you're likely looking at with Cash App. It's like comparing a local delivery service to cross-country shipping - Cash App tends to process these deposits more efficiently than traditional banks. If your funding date is 2/24 and today is Monday, you're almost certainly going to see it by Wednesday at the latest. The tracking number is your golden ticket - it means the money is definitely on its way.

Just to clarify something I've seen cause confusion: SBTPG's "funded" status means they've sent the money, not that they're holding it. If you paid for tax preparation through your refund, they've already deducted those fees before sending to Cash App. The tracking number is essentially a confirmation that the ACH transfer has been initiated. When I worked in banking, we typically saw these types of transfers complete in 24-48 hours, excluding weekends and holidays.
