PATH Act message showing up before identity verification - normal?
Filed my tax return and got the PATH message on WMR. Haven't received any letters about verifying my identity yet but worried this might be coming. Anyone else get the PATH message first before having to verify? Just trying to figure out if this is normal or if I should be doing something.

The PATH Act message is completely separate from identity verification. PATH applies to returns claiming EITC or ACTC and is a mandatory hold until mid-February. Identity verification would come as a separate notice, usually a 5071C letter. You can always check if you need to verify by trying to create an ID.me account on the IRS website.
