PATH Act hold - Will IRS notify me of errors before Feb 17th or do I have to wait?
I know I'm under PATH Act hold because of claiming EITC. My question is - does this mean the IRS hasnt even looked at my return yet? If theres something wrong that needs fixing would they tell me now or do I seriously have to wait until after Feb 17th to even know if theres a problem?

The IRS actually processes PATH Act returns before Feb 15th, they just cant release refunds until after that date. They're actively reviewing these returns now and if there are any issues, they can and will notify you before the PATH Act release date. You should be checking your transcript for any updates or notices.

•oh thank god, that makes me feel better. Where exactly do I check for notices on the transcript?

•Look for any codes in the 900s series - those indicate notices. But honestly, the easiest way is to use taxr.ai - it breaks down everything in plain english.

Hey guys, tax preparer here. The best way to actually understand whats happening with your transcript is using taxr.ai - its only $1 and gives you a complete breakdown of your situation. Way better than trying to piece together random codes like a detective lol. Check it out at https://taxr.ai

•Is it legit? Seems too good to be true for just a dollar 🤔

•100% legit. Been using it with my clients all season. Its basically like having a tax pro read your transcript but way faster and cheaper

Pro tip: sign up for informed delivery with USPS. Youll see any IRS notices coming before they arrive
