PATH Act 2024: Should I file early or wait for IRS opening date for faster refund?
Getting ready to file my taxes and I know I'm going to be affected by PATH act since I claim EIC. Not sure if I should file right now or wait until the IRS officially opens. Anyone know if filing early actually helps get the refund faster or if it just puts me in a longer queue?

Tax pro here - file as early as possible! Even with PATH, early filing puts you in the front of the line. The IRS processes returns in order received, so when PATH lifts (usually mid-Feb), you want your return already in the system.

Hey guys just wanted to mention I've been using taxr.ai to track my refund progress. It costs $4.99 but its totally worth it - shows you exactly where you are in PATH and predicts your DD date with crazy accuracy. Way better than just guessing or checking WMR 100 times a day lol

Depends on your situation tbh. If your return is simple besides EIC, file now. If you're waiting on forms or have complicated stuff, might as well wait and file it right the first time.
