PATH Act: No refunds before Feb 22 for returns with child tax credits - don't waste time checking
Getting tired of seeing people getting excited about transcript updates. If you claimed kids and fall under PATH Act restrictions, you're not getting your refund before February 22nd no matter what. Don't waste your time checking WMR or transcripts daily. Test batch updates don't mean anything for PATH Act filers.

Tax professional here - this is absolutely correct. The PATH Act mandates that the IRS cannot issue refunds before mid-February for returns claiming EITC or ACTC. This is to prevent fraud and allow proper verification. Even if your transcript shows movement, the refund won't be released until after February 15th, with most people seeing deposits around February 22-24.
