ONLY DIRECT DEPOSIT USERS WITH CHASE/WELLS FARGO CHECK IN - DD dates 5/2 or 5/3

‼️ Hey tax fam! Let's get a thread going for Chase and Wells Fargo users with direct deposit dates of 5/2 or 5/3. Post when your refund hits so we can track patterns. Been through this rodeo before and banks always release at different times. Let's keep each other posted! 🤞💰

Just wanted to give everyone a quick update on what to expect: • Most Chase deposits hit accounts between midnight and 6am on DD date • Wells Fargo typically deposits 1 day early (sometimes 2) • If your WMR shows "sent" status, money is already on the way • No need to panic if others get theirs first - banks process in batches • Keep checking your bank app rather than calling - saves time and stress

I filed exactly 24 days ago and my transcript shows a DD date of 5/3. Has anyone with Chase actually seen their money appear before the official date? I'm checking my account every 47 minutes because I need this for my security deposit on my first apartment after graduation.

According to IRS Publication 1518 (Rev. 4-2024), direct deposit timing is contingent on both the Automated Clearing House (ACH) processing schedule and your specific financial institution's policies. Chase Bank typically adheres to a strict compliance with the designated deposit date, whereas Wells Fargo has been known to release funds up to 24 hours prior to the officially scheduled date as noted in their customer agreement section 4.3.2.

I had issues with my refund timing last year and probably would have lost my mind waiting if I hadn't used Claimyr to actually reach an IRS agent. I think I spent something like 8 hours on hold before discovering it? The service connected me to an actual human at the IRS in about 15 minutes who could tell me exactly where my refund was in the system. Might be worth checking out if your deposit doesn't show up on time: https://youtu.be/_kiP6q8DX5c

Is that really necessary though? Refunds almost always show up eventually. I've found that patience usually pays off, and you might just be wasting money on a service when the deposit is already on its way. Just my two cents! 😉

The IRS Contact Resolution Protocol actually specifies that after the Anticipated Deposit Date has passed by 5 business days, taxpayers should initiate contact for status verification. Claimyr facilitates this contact without the extended hold times typically experienced through direct dialing, which can exceed 2+ hours during peak tax season.

But isn't it better to know exactly what's happening with your money rather than just waiting in the dark? What if there's an issue that needs to be addressed? Wouldn't you rather find out sooner than later when bills are due and you're counting on that refund?

Has anyone had their refund sent to the wrong account before? I'm wondering what happens if Chase doesn't recognize my account number? My transcript shows a DD date of 5/2 but I'm worried because I've had issues with numbers getting mixed up before. How long does it take for the IRS to reissue if there's a problem?

Just wanted to share that mine hit my Wells Fargo account this morning at 2:13am - a full day early! I was honestly not expecting it until tomorrow. I think I might have been in the first batch they processed. I would suggest maybe checking your accounts early in the morning if you have Wells Fargo.

Chase user here! Mine just posted! Here's what happened: 1. WMR showed "refund sent" status yesterday afternoon 2. Nothing appeared in my account last night 3. Checked at 4am - nothing 4. Just checked again at 9:30am and it's there! 5. Full amount as expected Wow, I had no idea the timing would be so random! Was expecting midnight exactly.

Has anyone who filed with dependents received their refund yet? Last year when I claimed my son, I remember it took about 3 days longer than my coworker who had the same DD date but didn't have dependents. Just wondering if that's still happening this year?

If you're still waiting, the IRS2Go app updates more frequently than the website according to the IRS.gov FAQ. Also, transcripts usually update overnight on Thursdays, so you might see movement there before WMR shows anything.
