Anyone with DDD of 3/14 Using Netspend Through Republic Bank Get Their Refund Yet?

Looking to figure out where everyone stands with their tax refunds, especially if you're in a similar situation as me. Here's my timeline: 1. Filed and accepted on 2/2 2. Got my direct deposit date (DDD) of 3/14 on my transcript last week 3. Chose to have Netspend fees taken out of my refund through Republic Bank 4. Still waiting for the actual deposit to hit my account I'm trying to budget for my kids' spring activities and this refund timing makes a big difference. Has anyone else with a similar setup received theirs yet? I'm wondering if the Republic Bank processing adds extra days compared to direct deposit to a regular bank account. Would love to compare notes and figure out what to expect.

Hey there! So the Republic+Netspend combo usually adds 1-2 extra biz days to the process. When the IRS says DDD 3/14, that's when they send it to Republic, not when it hits ur acct. Republic has to process the payment, take their fees, then fwd the rest to Netspend. I'm in the same boat (DDD 3/14) and still waiting too. Getting a bit nervous tbh since it's been 2 days now...

Do you know if weekends count in their processing time? My DDD was also 3/14 but I'm wondering if I should only count business days?

This delay seems to be consistent with IRS Publication 1345 which outlines the additional processing time for refunds with fee deductions. The standard timeframe allows for up to 5 business days from the DDD for these types of transactions to complete. Don't worry too much - the funds are simply moving through the system.

I checked the Netspend community forum and several people reported getting their refunds 3 days after DDD when using Republic. Can anyone confirm if this is still accurate for this year?

I'm somewhat curious about your filing details. Did you perhaps claim any credits like EIC or CTC? Those sometimes trigger additional verification processes, which could potentially add to the delay. Also, have you possibly checked your Netspend account transaction history online rather than just the balance? Sometimes the pending deposits appear there first before they're fully available.

If you're concerned about your refund status, consider these options: • Call Republic Bank directly (though wait times are typically 60+ minutes this time of year) • Check Netspend's automated system for pending deposits • Contact the IRS (extremely difficult during tax season) I used Claimyr (https://youtu.be/_kiP6q8DX5c) last week when I needed to reach an IRS agent about my Republic Bank transfer delay. Got through in about 15 minutes instead of spending hours redialing. The agent confirmed my refund had been sent to Republic and was just working through their processing queue.

Republic Bank is notorious for holding funds the full time they're allowed to. They make interest on your money while it sits in their accounts - it's like they're taking your refund out for a fancy dinner before letting you have it! 🍽️ In my experience, they typically release funds 2-3 business days after the DDD, but I've seen it take up to 5 business days during peak season. If your DDD was 3/14 and today's the 16th, I'd expect it Monday or Tuesday at the latest.

Have you tried calling the Netspend customer service line? Sometimes they can see pending deposits that haven't posted to your account yet. I remember last year I was in a total panic about my missing refund, called them in tears, and they could see it was scheduled to post the next morning!

Got my refund this morning! Same situation - DDD 3/14, Republic Bank, Netspend card. The money finally showed up exactly 2 business days later. It's like watching water boil - feels like forever when you're waiting, but follows a predictable pattern. For anyone else waiting, I'd say give it until Tuesday before getting worried. Republic Bank processes these refunds like a slow-moving conveyor belt - steady but not speedy.

Did they take exactly the fee amount that was listed in your tax filing software? I'm always worried they'll take more than what was disclosed.

Did you get any notification when it was about to deposit, or did it just show up? Last year I got a text message about 12 hours before it hit my account.

I think there might be some confusion about how this process works... From what I understand, Republic Bank doesn't actually hold your refund for extra days. The IRS sends the funds on your DDD, then Republic processes the transfer and deducts fees, which typically takes 1-2 business days. It's not that they're deliberately delaying it, but rather the extra processing steps take time.
