Need help with identity verification status update - what to ask?

Hey everyone, I'm trying to get an update on my identity verification status. Has anyone else been in this situation? I'm not sure what to expect or how long it usually takes. Any advice on what specific questions I should ask when I finally get through to someone?

I found a way to solve identity verification delays, watch this: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=X0P1vEphBLI

Ugh, identity verification is such a pain! I went through this a few months ago. Make sure to ask them if there are any pending documents they need from you. Sometimes they don't tell you and you just end up waiting for no reason.

This! I waited for weeks only to find out they needed a clearer copy of my drivers license. Such a waste of time 🙄

how long did it take for you to get verified after you sent in the clearer copy?

It took about 5 business days after I sent the new copy. Not too bad once they actually had what they needed!

I found a method to get someone on the phone. I used this site's (claimyr.com) calling tool that dials the phone menu, stays on hold, waits for a live agent to pick up, then sends the call to my phone. It does cost $20, but it works. Here's a video about it: https://youtu.be/bDXD2SD0gGk

Sounds too good to be true. Does it really work?

Yeah, it actually does! I was skeptical at first too, but it saved me hours of hold time. Totally worth the $20 imo

Is it safe tho? Like, how do they handle your personal info?

From what I understand, they don't actually access any of your personal info. They just connect the call to you once an agent picks up. But def check their website for more details!

When you get through, ask them: 1. Is there any missing information in your application? 2. What's the current status of your verification? 3. Is there an estimated timeframe for completion? 4. Are there any steps you can take to expedite the process? Be persistent and don't be afraid to follow up if you don't hear back. Good luck!

Pro tip: keep a log of all your calls, who you spoke to, and what they said. It'll help if you need to escalate later.

Anyone else feel like the whole system is designed to be as frustrating as possible? 🤔 Like they're hoping we'll just give up?

100% this. It's a feature, not a bug 🙃

Nah, I think it's just underfunded and understaffed. Still sucks tho

I had to go through this last year. Here's what worked for me: 1. Be super polite but firm with the agents 2. Have all your docs ready before you call 3. If one agent can't help, politely ask to speak to a supervisor 4. Follow up every week if you don't hear back 5. Check your spam folder regularly! Hang in there, it's a process but you'll get through it!

Thank you so much for the detailed advice! I'll definitely follow these steps. How long did the whole process take for you?

It took about 6 weeks total for me, but I've heard it can vary a lot. Just stay on top of it and you should be fine!
