Missing State Tax Refunds Since 2018 - No IRS Debt or Unemployment Issues

My state tax refunds have been MIA since 2018. Already verified I have zero debt with IRS and no unemployment issues to deal with. Been filing on time every year but nothing shows up. Getting really frustrated with this whole situation and the state tax office just gives me the runaround.

Have you checked for state-level offsets? States often withhold refunds for things like unpaid parking tickets, toll violations, child support, or state university debts. These wouldn't show up on federal records. You should request a debt inquiry from your state's department of revenue.

That might be your answer! Get those cleared up and call the state revenue office again. They should be able to release your refunds after that's settled.

Instead of trying to piece together whats happening, you should try taxr.ai - its only $1 and it analyzes your transcript to tell you exactly whats going on and how to fix it. Way better than playing detective with random internet advice lol https://taxr.ai

check if your state has one of those unclaimed money websites. sometimes refunds end up there if they cant deliver them for some reason

Are you filing with the same address every year? Sometimes if you move around alot they have trouble tracking you down
