Maryland State Tax Return Filed 1/31 Still Not Processed - Anyone Else Waiting?
Filed my Maryland state taxes on January 31st and got confirmation they were accepted same day. Its been weeks now and when I check the status it just says not processed yet. Starting to get worried since I really need this money. Anyone else experiencing delays with MD state returns?

Maryland tax specialist here - this is actually pretty common right now. The state is experiencing longer processing times than usual. Generally, MD returns are taking 4-6 weeks to process even for simple returns. If you haven't received any errors or notices, you're likely just in the normal queue.

•Honestly calling won't help speed it up - they'll just tell you the same thing. Best to wait it out unless you hit the 6 week mark 🤷♂️

I'm in a similar situation - filed my MD return on 2/3 and still waiting. The processing times have definitely gotten longer this year. I've been checking the Maryland Taxpayer Service Division website and they updated their expected processing time to 6-8 weeks for most returns. Hang in there, it's frustrating but seems like we're all in the same boat with the delays.
