TurboTax Shows Missouri Tax Forms Won't Be Available Until January 2025 - Is This Right?
Filed my federal taxes already but Missouri forms on TurboTax are still not ready. I keep getting messages saying forms are finalized but when I log in they're not there. Today when I tried to access my Missouri forms, I got this "Live Tax Advice" screen saying "Your federal and state returns are almost ready" and that "We're working on some updates due to law changes. We've saved your work and will email you as soon as everything's ready." The screen specifically shows that the "Missouri Individual Forms" including "Form MO-1040" (Missouri Resident - Long Form) won't be available until 01/30/2025. That's over a week away! It also has these useless buttons saying "How do these updates affect me?" and "Should I e-file or file my return by mail?" along with "Continue" and "Back" options. The available date keeps getting pushed back and it's super frustrating. I filed my federal weeks ago and just want to complete my state return. I'm worried about getting my refund delayed because TurboTax can't get their act together with Missouri forms. Has anyone else dealing with this Missouri form delay in TurboTax? Found any solutions or workarounds? Should I just try another tax software at this point?

Tax professional here. This is actually pretty common with TurboTax early in the season. Each state has different deadlines for finalizing their forms and software companies have to wait for official approval. Missouri typically takes longer than most states to finalize everything. You're not losing anything by waiting - state filing deadline is still months away.

I'm dealing with the exact same thing! Been checking TurboTax daily and that 01/30/2025 date for Missouri forms keeps staring me in the face. Super annoying since I already got my federal refund back in early January. At this point I'm wondering if it's worth just switching to a different tax software that actually has their Missouri forms ready.
