IRS Transcript Access: Can't Verify Identity - Old Phone Number Linked to Account
Trying to access my IRS transcript but stuck at verification. System wants to send verification code to old phone number that I don't have anymore. Can login fine but can't get past this step. Any solutions?

You'll need to verify your identity through ID.me. Go to IRS.gov, click login, choose ID.me option. You'll need to upload your drivers license/state ID, take a selfie video, and provide your current phone number. Takes about 15 minutes but its the only way to update your contact info now.

If ID.me doesnt work you can make an appointment at your local IRS office to verify in person. Just be ready to wait a few weeks for an opening

pro tip: call the IRS verification department directly at 800-830-5084. Sometimes they can verify you over the phone if you have all your docs handy
