IRS Return Accepted 1/28 - Got Verify Notice but Rep Says No Letter? What's Going On?

Filed and accepted on January 28th. Got a notification to verify my tax return last week but when I called IRS today the rep said they dont see any letter in the system and told me to wait 21 days. Im confused because the verify notification is right there but they cant see it? Starting to think the rep had no clue what they were talking about.

The verification notice typically comes through your tax software or Where's My Refund tool before it shows up in the IRS internal system. Wait about 5-7 business days for the letter to populate in their system. No point calling again until then - the reps can only see what's in their system.

Protip: Check your transcripts daily. Sometimes they update before the reps can even see changes in their system.
