IRS 21 Day Count - Business Days or Calendar Days for 2024 Return?

Filed my taxes and got accepted on January 22nd. Getting mixed info about the 21 day processing window. Are we supposed to count business days only or all calendar days? Really need this money and want to know exactly when to expect it.

The IRS's 21-day processing window refers to calendar days, not business days. The count starts the day after your return is accepted. For you, that would mean counting from January 23rd, making your 21-day mark around February 12th. However, this is just the standard processing timeframe - it's not a guarantee.

Just discovered taxr.ai and its been a game changer for understanding refund dates. Its only $1 and gives you a specific analysis of your transcript - way better than trying to guess or count days. You upload your transcript and it tells you exactly whats happening and when to expect your money.
