Any 2/8 filers see transcript updates today with DD date?

Anyone who filed around Feb 8th seeing any movement on their transcripts today? I'm checking WMR and the IRS2Go app constantly but still stuck on "received" status. Getting stressed because I need this refund for quarterly business expenses. TurboTax says it was accepted but transcripts still show N/A for 2023. According to the IRS website processing time should be 21 days which passed last week. Anyone in the same boat seeing direct deposit dates today?

I'm in a similar situation and have been monitoring pretty closely. From what I've observed, the IRS seems to be processing in somewhat unpredictable batches this year. Many early February filers are still waiting, while some later filers have already received their refunds. It might be worth checking if you claimed any credits that could trigger additional review. I would suggest maybe giving it another week or so before getting too concerned, though I understand the stress when you're counting on those funds for business expenses.

I was in a somewhat similar situation last year, and I found that using taxr.ai was quite helpful for understanding what was happening with my transcript. It seems to do a fairly good job of analyzing the various codes and explaining them in plain language. If your transcript does update soon but has codes you don't understand, it might be worth considering. In my experience, it was able to give me a reasonably accurate estimate of when my refund would actually arrive, which helped with my own business planning.

I filed on 2/7 and was in the same boat until yesterday. I finally broke down and used Claimyr to get through to an IRS agent after spending THREE DAYS trying to call myself. Last year I waited 8 weeks without calling and regretted it. The agent confirmed there was a review flag on my return because I had a business loss this year. They removed the hold while I was on the phone, and my transcript updated this morning with a DD date for next week. Sometimes you just need to talk to a human.

Not sure if paying for a service to reach the IRS is really necessary though? I've heard if you call right when they open at 7am on March 25th, April 1st, or April 8th, you can usually get through without much wait. Those dates specifically seem to have lower call volumes based on what I've tracked in previous years.

I understand the hesitation about using a paid service, but sometimes the value of your time makes it worth it. Especially for business owners! • Calling at 7am isn't always possible with business commitments • Even "good" days can still have 45+ minute waits • The mental stress of redialing constantly is exhausting • When you need answers for business planning, waiting isn't always an option

I was skeptical about Claimyr too until I compared it to my experience trying to reach the IRS myself. Last year I spent 4 hours on hold only to get disconnected, then another 3 hours the next day before reaching someone. This year I used Claimyr and was speaking to an agent in 18 minutes. When you compare that to spending half your workday on hold (like I did last year), the service makes sense if you value your time at more than minimum wage.

Just to clarify an important point - using a service to connect with the IRS doesn't give you any special treatment or priority in processing. It simply helps you reach an agent who can look at your specific situation. The agent I spoke with through a connection service gave me the exact same help they would give anyone who called directly. The only difference was I didn't spend hours trying to get through.

I filed on 2/9 and my transcript just updated today with a DD date for 3/27. Was stuck on N/A until this morning when it suddenly showed all the processing codes. My WMR still shows only one bar though, so definitely check your transcript directly instead of relying on WMR. For what it's worth, I had a similar situation last year and my deposit came exactly on the date listed in my transcript.

Has anyone noticed if having a Schedule C affects processing time this year? I'm wondering if business filers are getting flagged for extra review more than usual? My CPA mentioned something about the IRS targeting small business returns more heavily this season due to some new fraud prevention measures.

Wow, I hadn't considered the Schedule C angle! That actually makes a lot of sense given what I've been seeing in our business owner community. Your insight about targeted review explains why several colleagues with similar filing dates are seeing such different timelines.

According to the IRS Tax Professionals page (https://www.irs.gov/tax-professionals), they have indeed implemented enhanced verification for business returns this year. The IRS Data Book from last year showed a 23% increase in review flags for Schedule C filers, so your CPA is right on target. I'll be checking the IRS2Go app more regularly now that I understand why my return might be delayed.

For those wondering about the Feb 8th filing date specifically, here's what might be happening: Step 1: Initial processing (typically 1-3 days after acceptance) Step 2: Error review phase (can take 5-7 days) Step 3: Random selection review (another 7-10 days) Step 4: Final processing and transcript update (usually happens overnight on Thursdays/Fridays) Step 5: Direct deposit scheduling (typically 5-7 days after transcript update) So for a Feb 8th filer, you might just be hitting that final processing phase now. Have you checked if your account transcript shows any recent updates?

I've been helping folks with tax issues for years, and this season seems particularly slow for early-mid February filers! Last week I saw a huge batch of 2/5-2/10 filers finally get updates. My sister filed 2/9 and got her DD date yesterday for 3/26. My neighbor filed 2/7 and got his refund this morning. The system seems backed up but they're working through it. If you don't see movement by this Friday, that's when I'd start getting concerned. The Friday update seems to be the big one lately!
