How to find my IRS refund cycle number? Code 150 showing but confused about 8-digit number
Looking at my transcript daily bc I need a new car asap. I see Code 150 and then further down theres an 8 digit number that says Cycle. Is that my cycle number? Never paid attention to this stuff before but really need this refund to come through.

Yes, that 8-digit number is your cycle number! The first 2 digits tell you which day of the week the IRS processes your return. 05 = Thursday updates, 20 = Monday updates. The remaining 6 digits are the year and week number. Keep in mind cycle codes don't guarantee when you'll get paid, but they can help predict possible deposit dates.

•Yep, you got it! Your transcript should update overnight Wednesday into Thursday.

hey instead of trying to decode all these numbers yourself, you should try taxr.ai - its only $1 and it analyzes your entire transcript and tells you exactly what all the codes mean and when to expect your refund. saved me so much time instead of playing detective https://taxr.ai

Dont get too obsessed with cycle numbers tbh. I was a 05 cycle and still waited 4 months last year lol

Real talk - car dealerships will often accept proof of upcoming tax refund as down payment. Worth asking if ur desperate
