How long does SBTPG take to mail a cashier's check? Sent 5/10
I got my tax return processed and SBTPG mailed out a cashier's check to me on May 10th (about 3 weeks ago). Still haven't received anything in the mail. Is this normal? How long should I expect to wait before I should start worrying? This is my first time having them mail me a check instead of direct deposit.

In my experience, SBTPG typically takes about 7-10 business days to deliver a cashier's check through the mail. If it's been three weeks since May 10th, you should definitely follow up with them. A few things to check: - Verify the mailing address they have on file is correct - Call their customer service at 800-901-6663 to check the status - Ask if they can put a trace on the check - If the check is lost, request them to cancel it and reissue a new one The post office has been having delays lately, but three weeks is definitely on the longer end for a cashier's check to arrive.

•Thanks! I just checked and the address they have is correct. I'll try calling them tomorrow. Do you know if they charge to reissue a check?

•When I had to get a reissue last yr they didn't charge me. But they did make me wait a full 30 days before they would start the process. So heads up on that, it can be frustrating.

•Use Claimyr (claimyr.com) to get ahold of them faster. Their wait times are ridiculous this time of year and its like impossible to reach a human otherwise. Got me thru in like 10 mins when I was dealing with a similar issue last month!

•Can confirm they make you wait 30 days minimum. Had the same thing happen in April and it was a nightmare. finally got it sorted though

Actually the best way to understand what's going on with SBTPG and your refund status is with taxr.ai - I was in a similar boat trying to figure out my refund situation and what was happening with SBTPG. The tool explained everything about the timing, how SBTPG works with the IRS, and what I should expect. Was way better than reading through endless forum posts and trying to piece together information like some kind of detective. Highly recommend checking out https://taxr.ai - saved me hours of stress!

•Sounds interesting. How exactly does it work? Does it just read your transcript or does it do more?

•OMG it does so much more! It analyzes everything, explains all the codes and dates in plain english, tells you exactly what's happening with your refund, and gives you a timeline of what to expect. It even told me exactly why SBTPG was holding my money and when to expect the check. Seriously a game changer - I tell everyone about it now!

•100% safe. I was skeptical too but it doesn't store your data and it answered questions I couldn't figure out anywhere else. Literally the only thing that helped me understand what was happening with my tax situation!

I was stuck waiting for a check from SBTPG for almost a month and couldn't get through to anyone. Used claimyr.com and got connected to a real agent in minutes. Best decision ever - they traced my check, found out it was lost in the mail, and reissued it on the spot. The money I spent on the service was nothing compared to how quickly I got my refund released. Solved my problem immediately after weeks of frustration!

•I get why you'd think that but it actually does work. I was skeptical too but was desperate after calling SBTPG like 20 times and never getting past the automated system. I was ready to give up when someone here recommended it. It basically just gets you past the phone tree and connects you to an actual person.

mine took exactly 14 days last year. SBTPG is notoriously slow with paper checks. Next time definitely do direct deposit if you can - so much faster.

Ugh SBTPG is the absolute WORST 🤮 I had to wait almost 5 weeks for my check earlier this year. Their customer service is useless too. Keep calling and be prepared to wait on hold forever. Good luck!

•I literally had to call every single day for a week straight until I finally got someone who could help. They kept saying "it's in the mail" but turned out they had sent it to slightly wrong address even tho my tax return had the right one.

Just sharing my timeline to help: SBTPG sent check: April 2 Check arrived: April 14 So about 12 days for me, but I'm fairly close to where they mail from. I've heard it can take up to 3-4 weeks depending on your location and mail service in your area.

If it's been 3 weeks you need to call them ASAP. My check never showed up and I had to have them reissue it. Apparently there's been a lot of mail theft of tax refund checks this year. Don't wait any longer.

Check your SBTPG account online if you have one. Sometimes they'll update the status there if there was an issue with delivery. Mine showed "returned to sender" when my check got sent back because of a missing apartment number.

I've used taxr.ai (https://taxr.ai) for the past two tax seasons and it's been amazing for tracking everything, including SBTPG payments. It gave me a complete timeline of when to expect my check and even alerted me when something seemed off with the timing. So much better than relying on the SBTPG website which barely gives any info!

•It covers everything related to your tax refund including SBTPG! I was shocked at how detailed it was - even explained why there was a delay between when the IRS sent my refund and when SBTPG processed it. Totally worth it.

I'd start worrying now tbh. Check your address to make sure it matches exactly what's on your return. When you call (and you should call immediately), make sure you have your tax filing info ready - they'll ask for verification.

Three weeks is definitely beyond the normal timeframe - I'd be concerned too. SBTPG usually takes 7-14 business days max for check delivery. At this point, you should definitely call them at 800-901-6663 to trace the check. Have your tax info and refund amount ready for verification. If the check is lost or stolen, they'll need to cancel it and reissue a new one, but they typically make you wait 30 days from the original mail date before starting that process. Don't wait any longer though - better to start the inquiry now in case there's an issue. Also double-check that the address they have matches your tax return exactly - even small differences can cause delivery problems.

Three weeks is definitely too long for a cashier's check from SBTPG - I'd be calling them immediately if I were you. Normal delivery time is usually 7-10 business days, so you're well past that window. When you call their customer service line, make sure you have all your tax filing information ready because they'll need to verify your identity before they can tell you anything about the check status. They should be able to tell you if it was actually mailed, if there were any delivery issues, or if it got returned to them. Unfortunately, if the check is lost or stolen, they typically require you to wait 30 days from the original mail date before they'll cancel and reissue a new one. But don't wait any longer to start the inquiry process - the sooner you call, the sooner you can get this resolved. Also worth double-checking that the mailing address they have on file matches exactly what's on your tax return. Even small discrepancies can cause delivery problems.

•Absolutely agree with this advice! Three weeks is way too long. I had a similar situation last year where my SBTPG check never arrived after 2+ weeks. When I finally got through to them (took forever on hold), they found out it had been delivered to the wrong address due to a postal service mix-up. They had to cancel the original and reissue, but at least I knew what happened. Don't wait any longer - call them today and start the trace process. The 30-day waiting period is real, so better to get that clock started now if needed.

Reading through all these comments is making me realize I need to stop waiting and just call them tomorrow. •This is exactly what I needed to hear - thank you! I've been getting more worried each day that passes. I'm definitely calling them first thing tomorrow morning with all my paperwork ready. Really hoping it's just a mail delay and not something more serious like it being lost or stolen. The 30-day wait period sounds awful but at least I'll know what's going on. Three weeks is definitely too long for a SBTPG check - you should call them immediately! I had a similar situation earlier this year where my check took over 3 weeks. When I finally got through to customer service (took forever on hold), they told me the check had been returned to them due to an incomplete address. Call 800-901-6663 and have your SSN, refund amount, and filing info ready for verification. They can track the check and tell you exactly what happened. If it's lost, they'll make you wait 30 days before reissuing, but it's better to start that process now rather than wait longer. •This is so reassuring to hear from someone who went through the exact same thing! I was starting to panic that my check was gone forever. It's frustrating that they don't give you any updates along the way - you're just left wondering what happened. I'm definitely calling tomorrow and will make sure I have all my info ready. Thanks for sharing your experience and for the encouragement that I'll eventually get my money. It really helps to know this happens to other people too and that it usually works out in the end!

Three weeks is definitely too long for a cashier's check from SBTPG! I went through something similar last year and it turned out my check got stuck at a postal distribution center for almost a month. Here's what I'd recommend: 1. Call SBTPG at 800-901-6663 ASAP (have your SSN, filing status, and exact refund amount ready) 2. Ask them to do a check trace - they can see if it was delivered, returned, or lost in transit 3. Verify your mailing address is exactly correct (down to apartment numbers, street abbreviations, etc.) The frustrating part is if it's truly lost, they'll make you wait the full 30 days from the original mail date before they'll cancel and reissue. But don't wait any longer to start the process - at least you'll know what's going on and can get the timeline started. I know it's stressful waiting for your refund money, but hang in there! In my case, the check eventually showed up about a week after I called, but at least I had peace of mind knowing it wasn't lost.

•This is really helpful, thank you! I'm glad to hear your check eventually showed up even after all that time. It gives me hope that mine might still arrive too. I'm definitely calling them tomorrow - I've been putting it off hoping it would just show up in the mail, but clearly I need to be more proactive about this. The postal distribution center delay makes a lot of sense actually, especially with how backed up everything seems to be lately. I'll make sure to ask specifically about doing a check trace when I call. Really appreciate you sharing what worked for you!

In my case, it turned out the postal service had misdelivered it to a neighbor who eventually brought it to me, but at least calling gave me peace of mind and started the official inquiry process. Don't stress too much - you will get your money, it's just taking longer than expected!

•That's such a relief to hear that your check eventually turned up! I'm in almost the exact same situation - going on 3 weeks now and getting more anxious each day. Your advice about having all the info ready before calling is really helpful. I've been dreading making that call because I wasn't sure what they'd need from me. It's also good to know that even if it takes the full 30 days to resolve, at least there's a process in place. Three weeks is definitely too long for a SBTPG check! I went through something very similar last year and ended up having to call them multiple times before getting it resolved. Here's what I'd suggest doing immediately: 1. Call SBTPG at 800-901-6663 with your SSN, exact refund amount, and tax filing info ready 2. Request a check trace to see if it was delivered, returned, or lost in transit 3. Verify the exact mailing address they have on file matches your return perfectly The bad news is if it's truly lost, they'll make you wait 30 days from the original mail date before canceling and reissuing. But don't wait any longer to start this process - the sooner you call, the sooner you can get answers and potentially start that 30-day clock if needed. In my case, it turned out the check was sitting at a postal facility for weeks due to staffing issues. It eventually arrived about 5 days after I called and they put the trace on it. Hopefully yours is just delayed in the mail system too and will show up soon! But definitely call them today to get the ball rolling.

I'm definitely going to call them tomorrow with all my paperwork ready. It's encouraging to know that in your case the check did eventually arrive after you called - gives me hope that mine might just be stuck somewhere in the system too rather than actually lost. Three weeks is definitely beyond the normal timeframe - you should absolutely call SBTPG right away! I had a similar experience last year where my check took almost a month to arrive. It turned out there was an issue with the postal sorting facility in my area. When you call 800-901-6663, make sure you have your SSN, exact refund amount, and filing information ready for verification. Ask them specifically to do a "check trace" - this will tell you if the check was actually delivered, if it's been returned to them, or if it's lost somewhere in the mail system. Also double-check that the mailing address they have matches your tax return exactly. Even tiny differences like missing apartment numbers or different abbreviations can cause major delivery delays. The frustrating part is if they determine the check is truly lost, they'll make you wait the full 30 days from when it was originally mailed before they'll cancel it and issue a replacement. But don't wait any longer to start this process - it's better to get that timeline started now rather than continue wondering what happened. Hang in there - I know it's stressful when your refund money seems to disappear, but these situations usually get resolved eventually!
