H&R Block Refund with DDD 2/24/25 - Anyone Received Theirs Yet?

Anyone with H&R Block that has a DDD 2/24/25! Money has hit yet? I know that usually comes the night before ur date. Some people have already got theirs. Last year mine came at exactly 3am the day before my DDD. Getting anxious as I need to transfer some funds before my flight next week.

I've been tracking this closely for the past few days! Here's what I'm seeing: • Some H&R Block customers are reporting deposits as early as 2 days before DDD • Others (like me) with the same DDD are still waiting • It seems to depend partly on your bank's processing time • The IRS releases funds in batches, not all at once I really feel your anxiety - we're all refreshing our accounts constantly! Have you checked your H&R Block account to see if there's any status update there?

Did you opt for the Refund Transfer option where H&R Block takes their fees out of your refund? If so, that adds an extra step: 1. IRS sends money to H&R Block's bank 2. H&R Block deducts their fees 3. H&R Block's bank sends remaining amount to your account 4. Your bank processes the deposit This can add 1-2 days to the timeline compared to direct deposit straight from the IRS. Also, what bank do you use? Some process ACH transfers faster than others.

I was in this EXACT situation last year - had a DDD but nothing showed up for days. Compared to my previous returns where I got it right away, I was freaking out. Called H&R Block and they gave me a generic "it's processing" answer. Finally called the IRS using Claimyr (https://youtu.be/_kiP6q8DX5c) and found out my refund was actually sent but got delayed in the banking system. The IRS agent gave me a trace number that helped track it down. Unlike other tax situations where you wait on hold forever, I was talking to someone in about 15 minutes who could actually see where my money was.

I might be able to provide some insight here. I had a 2/22 DDD (also H&R Block) and it hit my account yesterday morning around 9am. I was sort of surprised because I thought it would come earlier based on previous years. My credit union typically processes these pretty quickly, so I was a bit confused by the timing this year. It seems like the whole system is running on a slightly different schedule this time around.

Did you receive your Cycle Code from your transcript? The Cycle Code often indicates which processing batch your refund is in, which can give you a more precise timeline for the deposit. Also, are you using the H&R Block Emerald Card or direct deposit to your personal bank account?

Just a word of caution based on what I've seen on irs.gov forums and r/tax - don't count on the money being available before the actual DDD. While many financial institutions release funds early when they receive the pending deposit notification, there have been numerous cases this tax season where expected early deposits didn't materialize until the actual DDD. According to the official IRS guidance at https://www.irs.gov/refunds, they only guarantee availability by the official DDD, not before. I'd recommend having a backup plan for those funds you need to transfer before your flight, just to be safe.

There's currently a known processing delay affecting some H&R Block refunds with DDDs between 2/22-2/26. The ACH network is experiencing higher than normal volume, and several financial institutions are reporting slower processing times. According to my contact at the bank, if your DDD is 2/24, you should expect the deposit by EOD 2/24, but possibly not before. This is time-sensitive information as of 2/23, and the situation may change rapidly as banks clear their weekend transaction backlogs.

Interesting... is this delay specific to H&R Block or affecting all tax preparation services? I'm wondering if this is why my brother got his TurboTax refund already while I'm still waiting with H&R Block even though we filed on the same day?

I can confirm this delay is happening. I had a DDD of 2/22 and didn't receive my deposit until 5:42 PM on exactly 2/22, when in previous years it came 1-2 days early. Called my bank on 2/21 and they confirmed they hadn't even received the ACH notification yet. Something is definitely different with the processing timeline this year.

Mine just hit my account!!! I had the same DDD of 2/24 with H&R Block and was getting so worried! I literally just checked my account after obsessively refreshing all day and it's there! I'm so relieved! I was starting to think something had gone wrong with my return. Check your accounts now - they might be processing a batch right now!

This tracks with what I've seen the past few years. H&R Block tends to release in batches around 5-7pm and then again around midnight-3am. The "night before" pattern isn't consistent anymore - about 60% get it early and 40% on the actual DDD in my experience. I've been doing taxes for friends and family for years and the patterns change slightly each season. 😂 Just when you think you've figured out the system, they change it on you!

Just wanted to share an update for anyone still waiting! I had the same DDD of 2/24 with H&R Block and mine finally showed up this morning around 6:30 AM. Based on what I'm seeing here and from talking to others, it looks like H&R Block is definitely processing these in waves rather than all at once like they used to. For what it's worth, I used the Refund Transfer option (where they take fees out of the refund) and bank with a smaller regional credit union. The timing seems pretty random this year - some people got theirs days early, others right on the DDD, and a few are still waiting even past their date. @Zoe - since you need those funds for your flight next week, you might want to call H&R Block directly with your confirmation number. They can sometimes see if there are any holds or processing issues on their end. Also, if you're really in a pinch, some banks will provide a provisional credit if you can show them the DDD documentation, though that varies by institution. Hope this helps ease some anxiety for everyone still refreshing their accounts!
