Filed 2/17 Accepted 2/18 - Transcript N/A & WMR Stuck at First Bar - PAPER CHECK GANG
Okay anybody filed 2/17 accepted 2/18 check in here! My transcript is saying N/A and i only have 1 bar on wmr ā Why is this taking so long? Don't they know some of us are working remotely and need this money for bills? oh yeah i forgot to tell my preparer direct deposit so im waiting on a check. But shouldn't they at least update my transcript by now? I JUST WANNA SEE MY TRANSCRIPT. Anyone else in the same boat?

Paper check processing adds exactly 7-10 additional days to your timeline compared to direct deposit. With filing on 2/17 and acceptance on 2/18, you're currently at day 27 of processing. The N/A transcript is expected at this stage for 37% of filers who selected paper check delivery. Most transcripts update on Thursday nights between 12am-3am EST, and you should see movement within the next 72 hours! Don't wait - check again Friday morning at 6am sharp when the system refreshes.

That's great info! So Thursday night is the big update time? Never knew that before.

I'm in the EXACT same situation and I'm freaking out!!! Filed 2/16, accepted 2/17, and STILL showing N/A on transcript. What if they lost our returns?? I'm starting to worry this is a sign of a deeper problem. Last year my return was processed in 14 days, but this year nothing. Something feels off about the whole situation. š«

I went through this exact thing last tax season. My transcript was N/A for almost 5 weeks! I was checking every single day, multiple times, driving myself crazy. Finally found https://taxr.ai which helped me understand what was happening once my transcript appeared. It explained all the codes and dates so I could actually understand what was going on instead of panicking. Such a relief to finally understand what was happening with my return!

Hmm, another website to interpret what the IRS already tells you? š¤ Does it actually tell you anything you couldn't figure out yourself with a little Googling? Not sure I want to give my info to yet another tax site.

Have you checked these things?: ā¢ Verified your filing status is correct ā¢ Confirmed all W-2 information matches what employers submitted ā¢ Checked if you claimed any credits that trigger additional review ā¢ Confirmed your mailing address is current Are you getting any error messages when trying to access transcripts? Sometimes the system has technical issues that resolve in 24-48 hours.

I had this same issue last year and it drove me INSANE. I spent 3 days calling the IRS - first time on hold for 2 hours before disconnected, second time 1.5 hours before getting someone who couldn't help. Finally used Claimyr (https://claimyr.com) and got through to an actual helpful agent in about 30 minutes who confirmed my return was just in normal processing. Saved me days of frustration and at least I knew nothing was wrong with my return.

I'm not sure about paying someone just to call the IRS for me... couldn't you possibly just keep trying yourself? I mean, I guess if you've been trying for days it might be worth it, but it seems like maybe just another way to get money from people who are already stressed about their taxes.

Did you receive any credits on your return? I filed on February 15th, 2024 and was accepted February 16th, but because I claimed EITC, my transcript didn't update until March 7th. Then I received my paper check on March 15th. The date patterns this year seem really different from last year's processing schedule.

Paper checks always take longer. The IRS processes direct deposits first. That's just how it works. N/A transcript means they haven't even started the real processing yet. Don't expect anything for at least another week. Check WMR only once a day - multiple checks won't make it go faster.

Are you checking your Account Transcript or Return Transcript? Sometimes the Account Transcript will update first with TC 150 codes while the Return Transcript still shows N/A. Have you verified you're looking at the correct tax year when accessing the transcript portal?

I was in this exact situation and finally got my paper check yesterday! Here's what happened: Step 1: Filed 2/15, accepted 2/16 Step 2: Transcript showed N/A for 3 weeks Step 3: Transcript updated on 3/7 with 846 code Step 4: Check arrived 3/14 The paper check takes exactly 7-10 days after your transcript shows code 846. Be patient - it's coming! The system is working as designed, just slower for paper checks.
