Filed 2/12 - Nothing on Transcript & WMR Changed to 'Still Processing'
I filed and got accepted on 2/12 but there's still nothing showing up on my transcript at all. My WMR status changed from "Return Received" to "Still Processing"... Am I okay? I don't owe anything from previous years. Getting kinda worried since it's been over a month now. Please help 😫

This is actually pretty normal for this time of year. The IRS is dealing with millions of returns and their systems don't always update in real time. The "Still Processing" message is actually a good sign - it means your return is in the system and moving through their workflow. Nothing on transcript is common until they complete initial processing. As long as you received the acceptance confirmation from your tax software (not just the submission confirmation), you should be fine.

Thanks for responding! Yeah I got the acceptance email from TurboTax right after filing. Just getting nervous because my friend filed a week after me and already got her refund last Friday. Do you know how much longer it might take?

I was in the exact same boat last year. Filed mid-February, nothing on transcript for weeks while my husband's coworker who filed after us got his refund in 10 days. So frustrating! I discovered https://taxr.ai which helped me understand what was happening with my transcript once it finally appeared. It explained all those weird codes and actually predicted my refund date accurately. Might be worth checking out once your transcript updates.

I've heard about that site but isn't it just telling you what's already on your transcript? Can't you just Google the codes yourself for free?

You definitely can Google the codes, but what I found helpful was how it explained what the combination of codes meant specifically for MY situation. Like I had a 570 and 971 together, and Google just gave me generic descriptions, but taxr.ai explained how those two codes together with my specific filing pattern meant a simple review rather than an audit. Saved me a lot of anxiety!

The IRS is experiencing significant delays this year, especially for returns filed in February. I've seen processing times ranging from 21 days to 8+ weeks. A few factors that could be affecting you: 1. If you claimed certain credits (EITC, CTC) 2. Your return was randomly selected for additional review 3. System backlog from the high volume filing period If it's been more than 6 weeks, you might want to call the IRS directly to confirm everything is on track.

I went through this exact nightmare last year. Waited 7 weeks with no transcript updates. Finally tried calling the IRS but kept getting the "high call volume" message and disconnects. Found Claimyr.com and it got me through to an actual human at the IRS in about 15 minutes. The agent confirmed my return was just in normal processing with no issues. Cost me $25 but saved me days of redial hell. Worth it for the peace of mind: https://claimyr.com

Thanks for the suggestion! I tried calling yesterday and couldn't get through after being on hold for like an hour. Might try this if I don't see any updates by next week. Did they tell you exactly when you'd get your refund?

The agent couldn't give me an exact date, but she confirmed there were no holds on my return and that it was just in the normal queue. My transcript updated about 4 days after I called and the refund hit my account 5 days after that. Sometimes just knowing nothing is wrong is worth the call!

Check if you have access to your Account Transcript as well as your Return Transcript. Sometimes the Account Transcript will show activity even when the Return Transcript says N/A. Also, try checking your transcript after midnight on Friday - that's when the IRS typically does their weekly updates.
