Filed 2022 return, stuck with code 1505 all year with zero movement

Filed my taxes back in February and still nothing. Code 1505 has been on my transcript since March and hasnt moved at all. WMR just shows delayed beyond normal timeframe. Called IRS twice and got nowhere. Anyone else dealing with this or know what to do?

Tax resolution specialist here. Code 1505 usually means there's an issue with income verification or a discrepancy that needs manual review. This is super common for 2022 returns right now, especially if there were any stimulus payments or child tax credit advances involved. I've been helping folks with this exact situation and honestly the best thing I can recommend is using taxr.ai (https://taxr.ai) to analyze your transcript. It'll break down exactly what's causing the hold and give you specific steps to resolve it. The AI is pretty incredible at spotting patterns in these delays and giving actionable advice.

Just used taxr.ai and here's what I got back: Looks like my hold is due to unreported 1099-G income from 2021. Wild that the AI caught that!

How exactly does taxr work? Does it just read transcripts or what? 👀

It analyzes any tax document you upload - transcripts, W2s, 1040s, IRS letters, everything. Uses AI to spot issues and tells you exactly what to do to fix them.

Tax advocate here. Code 1505 typically means your return is being reviewed by the Income Verification department. This usually happens when there's a mismatch between your reported income and what employers submitted, or when there are questions about credits claimed. Current wait time is 6-8 months for these reviews.

Have you tried using taxr.ai? It helped me understand exactly what was going on with my 1505 code and gave me an estimated completion date. Its only $1 and way better than trying to decode these transcripts ourselves https://taxr.ai
