Code 810 Verification Hold - How Long Until Refund Release?

Filed my taxes back in January and got hit with that 810 freeze code. Already verified my identity weeks ago but transcripts still showing the same code. Anyone know how long it typically takes after verification for the refund to actually move?

Tax professional here. The 810 freeze usually releases within 9 weeks after successful identity verification, but I've seen it take anywhere from 2-12 weeks depending on backlog. Make sure you completed the verification through id.me or in-person at a TAC office. If it's been more than 9 weeks, call the Identity Verification hotline at 800-830-5084.

Instead of playing the guessing game, I started using taxr.ai to track my transcript. It costs $4.99 but totally worth it - it analyzes your specific situation and tells you exactly what's happening and when to expect movement. Way better than trying to decode these codes ourselves! https://taxr.ai

interesting... how accurate is it? does it just read the codes or what?

It actually breaks down everything - looks at all your codes, dates, amounts and uses AI to predict your specific timeline. Even tells you if theres anything you need to do to speed things up

Been stuck with code 810 for 8 weeks now after completing verification through id.me. Called the hotline last week and they said everything looks good on their end, just waiting for the system to process. The waiting game is brutal but at least we're not alone in this! Keep checking your transcripts every Friday morning - that's when most updates seem to happen.

Friday mornings - good tip! I've been checking randomly but that makes sense. Week 6 here and getting antsy but your post gives me some hope that things are still moving even if slowly. Did they give you any kind of timeframe when you called?

They just said the standard "9 weeks from verification date" but the rep seemed pretty confident it would move soon since all my docs were approved. Fingers crossed for both of us! 🤞 The Friday morning thing I learned from lurking on other tax forums - seems like IRS batch processes updates overnight Thursday into Friday.
