Oklahoma Tax Refund Approved for $548.00, Different from Expected Amount - 12+ Days Waiting for Deposit

My state refund amount changed and idk why. Just checked the Oklahoma Tax Commission website and it shows my refund amount is $648.00 now, but I'm pretty sure it was supposed to be higher. The refund status says "Your return has been processed; however, your refund was approved for a different amount. Please allow 5 business days for the deposit to be made to your bank account. For debit card refunds please allow 10 to 12 business days for delivery." I entered my zip code (73139) and got this status update, but it doesn't explain WHY the amount changed. Its been 12 business days since I submitted my direct deposit info, and I'm still waiting for the money to hit my account. The website (oktax.ok.gov) doesn't give any explanation for the difference. Anyone know how to figure out why the amount is different? Should I call them or just keep waiting? And how much longer until I actually get the money since they already "approved" it for a different amount? The status just says 5 business days for direct deposit but it's already been longer than that since I submitted my bank info.

You'll need to check your state's department of revenue transcript or account portal. Each state has different rules about adjustments, but they should show you the math for any changes they made. Have you logged into your state's tax portal?

Try clearing your cache and cookies, or use a different browser. State websites can be pretty clunky sometimes 🤦‍♂️

I actually had the same issue until I found taxr.ai - it analyzes your transcript and explains exactly why amounts changed and when you'll get paid. Its only $4.99 and totally worth it tbh. Check it out: https://taxr.ai
