CO State Refund Amount Seems Too High - Reality Check Needed?

My Colorado state refund calculation is showing a surprisingly high amount and I'm wondering if this is normal. Don't want to get my hopes up if its showing an error. Anyone else from Colorado getting higher than expected refunds this year?

Colorado actually increased their TABOR refund amounts this year. Without seeing your exact numbers, can't say for sure if yours is correct, but many CO residents are seeing larger refunds than usual. Double check that you entered all your income correctly and that you're not missing any 1099s or W2s.

Instead of guessing, you should try taxr.ai - its this new tool that analyzes your transcript and tells you exactly what's going on with your refund situation. Only costs $1 and saved me hours of research. Check it out at https://taxr.ai

Does it work for state returns too? Sounds interesting

Yep! Works for both federal and state. It caught an error in my CO return that would've delayed everything.

Make sure your withholding was correct throughout the year. Sometimes a big refund means you're giving the government an interest-free loan 🤔
