Bank rejected DD refund - How long for paper check after IRS reissue?
My refund was approved April 5 for direct deposit but my bank rejected it and sent it back to the IRS. Anyone know how long I have to wait now for them to mail me a paper check instead? Getting really frustrated since I was already approved and now im back to waiting again.

When a bank rejects a direct deposit, the IRS typically takes 2-3 weeks to process and mail out a paper check. The check will be sent to the address on your tax return. Make sure your address is current with USPS. You can check Where's My Refund tool for updates, it should show updated status once they process the paper check.

Called IRS yesterday about this exact thing. They said 4-6 weeks is standard wait time for paper check after DD rejection. But tbh could be faster depending on your location

Same thing happened to me last year. Took about 3 weeks after the rejection for the paper check to arrive. The annoying part is WMR doesn't update very clearly when they switch to paper check - it just keeps saying "being processed" until it's actually mailed. Hang in there, it should come soon since you're already at the 2 week mark!
