Anyone with cycle code 0702 receive a DDD yet?

Got stuck with cycle code 0702 this year. Last year I was on 0805 and had my refund by mid-March. This time I'm still waiting and it's already April. Anyone else with 0702 get their Direct Deposit Date yet? I've been checking my transcript every few days but nothing's changed. Starting to wonder if there's something specific about this cycle that's causing delays. My business expenses were higher this year but everything was documented properly.

Have you verified when your return was accepted? The 0702 cycle is typically processed on Thursdays, but this year there have been significant delays with this cycle. When did you file? Did you claim any credits that might trigger additional review? Are you seeing any other codes like 570/971 on your transcript? The more details you can provide, the better I can help you understand where you are in the process!

I'm in the same boat with cycle code 0702. It's like being stuck in traffic where you can see the exit but can't reach it. I filed on February 10th and my transcript updated with this cycle code about 3 weeks ago, but no DDD yet. It's like the IRS has put us in a waiting room where the receptionist keeps saying "just a few more minutes" but hours pass.

This is really helpful context. I've been through three different cycle codes over the past few years and 0702 was definitely the slowest in my experience. Last year I was on 0705 and received my refund exactly 21 days after filing. The year before I had 0702 like now and it took nearly 7 weeks.

I appreciate this detailed breakdown! I'm on cycle 0702 as well and just got my DDD yesterday. Here's my timeline: • Filed: February 15th • Accepted: February 16th • Cycle code appeared: March 10th • DDD received: April 2nd • Expected deposit: April 7th So about 7 weeks total from filing to DDD for me.

I was stuck on 0702 until March 30th, then finally got my DDD. Filed on February 3rd, accepted February 4th. Waited 54 days total. This is the longest I've ever waited - last year I filed on February 10th, got accepted February 11th, and had my refund by February 28th. The IRS is definitely processing 0702 cycle returns much slower this year. Try checking your transcript on Thursday mornings, that's when most 0702 updates happen.

I was in cycle 0702 and got nowhere for weeks. Here's what finally worked for me: Step 1: I tried calling the regular IRS number for 3 days straight - couldn't get through Step 2: Used Claimyr (https://youtu.be/_kiP6q8DX5c) to connect with an actual IRS agent Step 3: The agent confirmed my return was in final processing and explained the 0702 backlog Step 4: Got my DDD exactly 2 days after speaking with them Sometimes you just need to talk to a human at the IRS to get things moving. Before Claimyr I wasted hours on hold and getting disconnected.

I've seen these services mentioned before but always wondered if they're really necessary. Couldn't you just keep calling the IRS yourself? I'm on 0702 as well and have been waiting since February 12th, but I'm not sure if calling would actually speed anything up or just confirm what we already know - that we're in a processing queue.

How exactly does this work compared to calling directly? I tried calling the IRS twice last week about my 0702 cycle code and couldn't get through. Does this service just keep dialing for you or do they have some special access? Just trying to understand if it's worth trying.

Thank you for sharing this! I've been trying to reach someone at the IRS for the past week with no luck. Definitely going to check this out - at this point I just want confirmation that nothing's wrong with my return. Cycle 0702 is driving me crazy!

I've tracked the 0702 cycle code for several years now. This cycle typically processes on Thursdays, but the Direct Deposit Date (DDD) will appear on your transcript approximately 5-7 days before the actual deposit. What's important to understand is that 0702 is part of the Weekly Processing Cycle (WPC) rather than the Daily Processing Cycle (DPC), which means updates only happen once per week. In my experience, 0702 returns this year are taking 45-60 days from acceptance to refund, particularly if you have any credits or deductions that trigger additional verification. If you're seeing code 570 (additional account action pending) or 971 (notice issued), those will further delay processing.

This is exactly right! I've been watching the 0702 cycle like a hawk this year. I'm SO frustrated with how slow it's moving compared to previous years! My transcript finally updated this morning with a DDD of 04/12. The emotional rollercoaster of checking WMR and transcripts multiple times a day is exhausting!

According to Internal Revenue Manual 3.30.123, weekly cycles like 0702 are processed every Thursday night, with updates appearing on transcripts by Friday morning. The IRS has confirmed that certain processing centers are experiencing higher than normal verification rates this year, particularly for returns with Schedule C business income, which explains the extended timeframes many 0702 filers are experiencing.

Have any of you noticed if having the Child Tax Credit affects processing time for cycle 0702? I'm seeing different patterns for those with and without dependents.

Thank you for explaining this so clearly! I've been checking my transcript daily not realizing the weekly cycle only updates on Thursdays. Saving myself some frustration now.

Tbh the cycle codes aren't as important as ppl think. What matters more is the codes on ur transcript. If u have 570/971 combo, that's usually a review. If u have 420/424, that's audit. Clean transcript w/ just 150 code? Ur just in normal processing queue. 0702 is just WHEN they process ur return (Thursdays), not HOW FAST. Check transcript Fri mornings for updates. Most ppl getting DDDs now filed early-mid Feb.

I was cycle 0702, filed on February 8th and FINALLY got my DDD yesterday for April 10th! It's been a nightmare waiting - I've got car repairs I've been putting off for weeks because I was counting on this money. I checked my transcript religiously every Thursday night/Friday morning and it finally paid off. What worked for me was stopping the constant checking and just checking once a week on Friday mornings. The stress was making me physically ill, and checking constantly didn't make it come any faster.

For those concerned about cycle code 0702, I wanted to share some additional information that might help ease some anxiety: The IRS processing system groups returns into weekly and daily processing cycles. Cycle code 0702 is a weekly cycle that processes on Thursdays. The first two digits (07) indicate the year (2024/2025 tax season), and the last two digits (02) indicate the day of the week (Thursday). There's been a significant increase in processing times this year, especially for returns with business income, itemized deductions, or certain credits. The IRS has acknowledged staffing shortages in several processing centers, which has contributed to delays. If your transcript shows cycle code 0702 but no DDD yet, you're likely in the queue for processing, but haven't been assigned to the final processing stage. Keep checking your transcript on Friday mornings for updates.

Cycle 0702 here. Filed Feb 1. Got DDD yesterday. Nine weeks total. Never saw any 570 codes. Just straight to 846 code with deposit date. No rhyme or reason to it. Just wait.
