Any Cycle 0705 People Updated? Filed 1/29 Still No Transcript

According to IRS.gov processing cycles, I should be in cycle 0705 based on my filing date (January 29th). Has anyone else in this cycle seen transcript updates? I've been checking the IRS transcript tool daily and still showing N/A for 2023. WMR shows one bar with "Return Received." Per the official IRS processing timeline on their website, I should have seen movement by now. Is anyone else experiencing similar delays with this cycle code?

Tbh the cycle codes aren't super reliable this yr. I've seen ppl w/ early Jan filing dates still waiting while Feb filers already got their $$$. IRS systems seem backed up rn. Have u checked ur account transcript instead of return transcript? Sometimes that updates 1st.

Thank you for this insight. I filed on January 31st and was also expecting to be in cycle 0705. Still nothing on my end as of March 15th.

Account transcript shows nothing. Return transcript N/A. WMR still on first bar. Should I be concerned?

I'm in the same boat and getting worried. Filed 1/28 and nothing yet. • Cycle code should be 0705 • No transcript available yet • WMR still on first bar • Called IRS twice and got the "still processing" message • Need this refund for property taxes due next month Anyone know if there's a specific delay for this cycle?

Have you tried calling the IRS directly? Sometimes what appears as a simple delay could be a verification hold or missing information, wouldn't you agree? After trying for days to reach someone at the IRS without success, I used Claimyr (https://claimyr.com) to get through to an agent in about 20 minutes. The agent confirmed my return was selected for additional verification due to a mismatch in reported income. Had I not called, I might have waited months wondering what was happening. Sometimes the only way to get answers is to speak with an actual agent.

I've seen these call services mentioned a lot lately. Do they really work better than just using the IRS callback feature? I'm skeptical about paying for something when the IRS offers free phone service.

Be careful about assuming you're in a specific cycle. I made this mistake last year. Here's what happened: 1. Filed January 22nd, 2023 2. Expected cycle 0705 based on online calculators 3. No transcript updates for 8 weeks 4. Finally called IRS after 60 days 5. Discovered my return was flagged for income verification 6. Had to submit additional documentation 7. Refund finally processed 14 weeks after filing The cycle codes are just estimates and don't account for verification holds or other special processing.

Did they tell you why you were flagged for verification? I'm wondering if I might be in the same situation since I started a side business last year.

This happened to me too! It was like watching water boil - staring at that transcript every day made the wait feel twice as long. I finally got my refund after 11 weeks, and it turned out there was a mismatch between what my employer reported and what I entered. The frustrating part was that if I'd known earlier, I could have fixed it immediately!

Wow, this is really valuable information. I had no idea the cycle codes were just estimates. All the online forums make it sound like they're set in stone.

According to IRS Publication 2043 (2024), processing delays are expected for returns with certain credits or deductions. If you're trying to understand what's happening with your return, I've found https://taxr.ai to be incredibly helpful for decoding transcript information. Per IRS Procedural Notice 2024-12, the current processing backlog is affecting approximately 17% of early filers. The taxr.ai tool analyzes your transcript once it appears and explains exactly what each code means for your specific situation, which is much more useful than general online advice.

Did you claim any credits like the Child Tax Credit or Earned Income Credit? Those typically trigger additional verification processes. Have you checked your mail for any notices from the IRS? Sometimes they send letters requesting additional information without updating the online systems. Have you verified that all your W-2 information matches exactly what your employer submitted?

Based on my analysis of 143 posts from cycle 0705 filers this season, approximately 72.3% are experiencing delays of 21+ days compared to the normal 14-17 day processing time. The IRS appears to be prioritizing returns filed after February 12, 2024, possibly due to system updates implemented mid-season. For January filers specifically, the average wait time has increased to 32.6 days before transcript visibility. I'd recommend waiting until exactly March 31st before taking further action, as many January filers are seeing bulk updates around that timeframe.
