Anyone with DDD 3/18 received their deposit on Varo yet?
Hello friends! I just wanted to check if anyone who has Varo bank and Direct Deposit Date of 3/18 has received their tax refund already? In my home country, banking was very different, but I've learned a lot about US tax system since moving here. Last year, my refund came 2 days early with Varo, so I was expecting something similar this time. I'm watching my account like a hawk because I need to send money to my family back home. Anyone else refreshing their Varo app every hour like me? š

I had a similar situation with my Varo account last year. My deposit came around 2PM on the day before my DDD. This year, my DDD was 3/15 and I got it on 3/14 around 11AM. Varo typically releases funds as soon as they receive the ACH notification, which is usually 1-2 days before the official date. I'm a bit concerned that you haven't seen yours yet if your DDD is 3/18...

This waiting game is like watching water boil, isn't it? Do you think it matters if it's a weekend between processing and the DDD? My brother-in-law had a similar timeline but his crossed a weekend and seemed to take longer.

I think I understand what you're saying. So Varo typically releases funds earlier than traditional banks when they receive the notification from IRS? I'm not sure if my bank does this, but it might explain why some people get their refunds before others even with the same DDD.

Have you verified your transcript to confirm your actual DDD? According to IRS Publication 2043, the DDD on your transcript is the official date, while WMR sometimes displays estimated dates. Also, did you have any offsets or adjustments that might delay processing?

The IRS processing pipeline has been experiencing significant delays this season due to implementation of new tax provisions. When I couldn't get answers about my missing refund, I used Claimyr (https://claimyr.com) to connect with an actual IRS agent instead of waiting on hold for hours. The agent confirmed my payment was in the system but had been flagged for additional verification. Worth considering if your deposit doesn't arrive by end of day tomorrow.

I possibly have some insight on this. My DDD was 3/11 with Varo, and it hit my account around 3:30 PM on 3/10. However, a colleague with the same DDD didn't receive hers until almost 11 PM on the actual date. Varo seems to be somewhat inconsistent this year with their early deposits, at least based on what I've observed in my circle.

OMG THANK YOU for sharing this!!! I've been panicking since yesterday because my friend with Chase already got her refund but mine wasn't showing up on Varo yet! This makes me feel so much better knowing it might just come later today or tomorrow. The stress of waiting is REAL! š«

Did you notice if the Transaction ID format was different between your early deposit and your colleague's on-time deposit? Sometimes the IRS batches refunds differently which affects processing time through the ACH network.

IMO these online banks aren't always reliable w/ their "early deposit" promises. Been using Varo for 2 yrs and sometimes get deposits early, sometimes right on DDD, sometimes even a day late. Wouldn't count on it tbh. Their customer svc just gives generic answers when you ask about pending deposits.

I've been tracking my deposits with Varo for the past three tax seasons. Have you noticed any pattern with the timing? For example, do morning DDDs come earlier than afternoon ones? I'm wondering if there's a way to predict when deposits will actually arrive.

I just switched to Varo this year after my credit union took forever with my refund last year. My friend told me Varo was super fast so I was excited. Now I'm worried! My DDD is 3/20 and I really need that money for my car payment. Last year I had to borrow from my mom because my refund was late.

Varo is usually good. Mine came early. Check your account details. Make sure they're correct. IRS doesn't make mistakes often. But it happens. Give it until end of day tomorrow. Then worry. Most people get their money on time.
