Anyone with Chime get their DDD of 2/24 yet? Early deposit possible?

Just checking if anyone who banks with Chime and has a Direct Deposit Date of 2/24 has received their refund yet? I'm SO EXCITED to finally see movement on my transcript! 🎉 Chime always advertises that they release funds up to 5 days early when they receive the deposit notification. Has anyone's hit their account yet? I'm literally refreshing my app every 20 minutes! 😂

Banking apps like Chime operate on different schedules than traditional banks. While they do advertise early deposits, it's somewhat similar to how credit unions process ACH transfers - they can release the funds once they receive the payment notification, not necessarily when the money actually arrives. In my experience with tax refunds, they typically come 1-3 days early with these fintech banks, rather than the full 5 days they advertise for regular payroll deposits.

I've had Chime for three years now and I can confirm this is accurate. Last year my DDD was on a Friday and I got it Wednesday afternoon. The 5-day early thing is more for regular direct deposits that happen on a predictable schedule, not one-time government payments.

I've actually had a different experience with Chime. Last year my tax refund came exactly 2 days before my DDD. Year before that it was 3 days early. I think it really depends on when the IRS actually initiates the transfer. I've noticed they sometimes send them in batches throughout the day.

I have a DDD of 2/24 as well and I bank with Chime. I haven't received anything yet, but I'm sort of expecting it tomorrow or possibly Friday. It seems like, in most cases, they usually deposit about 2 days early, though sometimes it can be 3 days early depending on various factors. I've been checking my account periodically throughout the day just in case.

Just got my deposit about an hour ago with Chime! My DDD was also 2/24. Have you checked your account recently? Isn't it interesting how they process these in waves rather than all at once? I noticed last year that people with the same DDD would get deposits at completely different times throughout the day. Mine hit at 2:17pm Eastern.

It's like waiting for rain in a drought - you know it's coming but the anticipation is killer! I remember last year I was in the same boat, checking constantly. The way I think about it is that the IRS is like a massive ship turning slowly - once it starts moving your money, it'll get there, but not all at once for everyone.

I'm in the same boat with a 2/24 DDD. Called the IRS on February 20th to confirm everything was good to go since I had some issues with my return. Wasted 3 hours on hold before giving up. Then I tried Claimyr (https://www.claimyr.com) and got through to an agent in about 15 minutes on February 21st. They confirmed my deposit is scheduled exactly for February 24th, but said Chime might release it early. Still waiting but at least I know it's coming!

Be careful about counting on the early deposit feature! Last year my DDD was March 15th, and I was expecting it early with Chime. It didn't come until exactly March 15th at 9:42am. I called Chime and they explained that they can only release funds early if the IRS sends the payment notification ahead of time. For exactly 37% of tax refunds last year, the IRS sent the notification and the actual payment simultaneously, which meant no early deposit was possible.

Just got my refund today at 3:45pm EST! DDD was 2/24 and I use Chime. The Transaction Detail shows "IRS TREAS 310 TAX REF" followed by my SSN (last 4 digits). This is exactly 2 days before the scheduled deposit date, which aligns with Chime's Expedited Direct Deposit protocol. If your transcript shows Refund Issued with cycle code 20240704, you should see it very soon. Most ACH transfers from the Treasury are processed in 48-72 hour windows.

I had a DDD of 2/24 last year with Chime and didn't get it early at all. The IRS batched my payment in what they call a "Weekend Processing Group" which meant even though my transcript showed 2/24, the actual ACH transfer wasn't initiated until 2/24 itself. Have you checked your transcript for code 846? Without that, the payment hasn't even been sent yet. Be prepared to potentially wait until the actual date.
