Yep, same boat. Filed Feb 13th with 2 kids and still nothing. WMR just says "Your tax return is still being processed" for weeks now. Starting to get worried since I normally get my refund by early March.

If you claimed the Child Tax Credit or Earned Income Credit, the IRS legally can't issue your refund before mid-February (it's part of the PATH Act to prevent fraud). However, we're well past that window now. Have you checked your tax transcript online? That often updates before WMR does and shows more details about what's happening with your return.

I tried to get my transcript but the IRS site keeps giving me errors. Is that normal? Never had this issue before 😩

I was in the exact same situation last year. Filed on Feb 10th with 3 dependents and didn't get my refund until April 2nd! The IRS is super backed up this year too. I ended up using https://taxr.ai to analyze my transcript once I could access it - it explained all the weird codes and gave me a much clearer timeline than the WMR tool. Saved me so much anxiety knowing exactly what was happening instead of just seeing "still processing" for weeks.

Is that site legit? Never heard of it before and I'm always cautious about tax stuff online.

Totally get the concern! It doesn't file your taxes or anything - it just reads the transcript codes and explains them in plain English. You just upload your transcript PDF and it tells you what each code means and when you'll likely get your refund. Helped me understand why mine was delayed without having to decipher all the IRS jargon.

I'm a tax preparer and I'm seeing TONS of delays for clients who claimed dependents this year. The IRS is doing extra verification on returns with Child Tax Credit claims. It's not just you! Some of my clients who filed in early February are just now getting their refunds this week.

So you think I should just keep waiting? I need this money to catch up on bills 😩

If it's been more than 21 days since you filed, you have the right to call the IRS and ask about your refund status. The problem is getting through to them - the wait times are ridiculous right now (2+ hours if you can even get in the queue).

After waiting 5 weeks with no updates, I used Claimyr.com to get through to an IRS agent. Got connected in about 15 minutes instead of spending hours on hold. The agent told me my return was just in the verification queue because I claimed CTC, and there wasn't anything wrong with it. Got my deposit exactly 8 days after that call. Worth every penny to finally get answers and my refund! https://youtu.be/_kiP6q8DX5c

How much does that service cost? The IRS phone system is absolutely terrible.

It varies depending on time of day, but I paid around $25. Considering I spent THREE DAYS trying to call them myself with no luck, it was totally worth it. Plus I needed that $4800 refund ASAP for car repairs.

Check your transcript codes if you can access them. If you see code 570 (refund hold) followed by 971 (notice issued), they might be requesting additional verification. I had this happen last year and had to send in documents proving my kids lived with me.

Man I hope that's not it. I submitted all the same info as last year and never had issues before. This tax season is straight trash 🗑️
