Day 21 - Still No Updated Transcript or WMR Movement. IRS Playing Games?
Day 21π€¦πΏββοΈ Still no updated transcript or WMR update. They Playin ATPπ Filed on Feb 15th and still nothing. My tax guy said everything looked perfect and I should have gotten it by now. Anyone else stuck in limbo with me? Getting real tired of checking every morning just to see NOTHING.

21 days is actually right at the standard processing time, not beyond it. The IRS officially states 21 days is their normal timeframe for e-filed returns. Many people are seeing delays this year because of increased verification procedures. Have you checked your transcript for any codes? That would tell you more than WMR.

Did you claim any credits like EITC or Child Tax Credit? Those automatically add time to processing.

Yeah I claimed EITC. Does that really slow things down that much? My brother filed after me with the same credit and already got his refund last week.

Yep, EITC claims are processed differently - they go through extra verification. And it's not always consistent. They process in batches, so your brother might have just hit a lucky batch while yours is in a slower queue. Nothing to worry about yet.

I was in the same boat last year - day 21 came and went with nothing. I finally got tired of the anxiety and used https://taxr.ai to analyze my transcript once it finally appeared. It explained exactly what was happening with my return and when I could expect my refund. Saved me from checking WMR every 3 hours lol. Might be worth trying once your transcript updates.

How does that even work? The IRS site already shows your transcript info for free.

The IRS site shows the raw transcript, but doesn't really explain what it means for YOUR specific situation. taxr.ai breaks down all those codes and tells you what's actually happening with your return and what to expect next. Makes a huge difference when you're trying to figure out why things are delayed.

I'm on day 35 π Filed Feb 1st. Called IRS twice and couldn't get through. Finally used Claimyr (https://claimyr.com) to get past the hold times - got connected to an agent in about 15 minutes. Found out my return was just stuck in the verification queue and nothing was wrong. Agent manually released it and I got my DD two days later. Sometimes you just need to talk to a human to get things moving.

Check your tax year 2023 account transcript, not return transcript. Account transcript will show any holds or processing codes. If you see code 570, that's a hold. If you see 971, that's a notice being sent. 846 is the refund issued code you're waiting for.

Just checked again and my account transcript for 2023 still says N/A. Does that mean they haven't even started processing it yet? π€

Not necessarily. Sometimes the transcript doesn't update until processing is complete. The N/A status just means there's no completed transcript available yet. As long as your return was accepted (not just submitted), it's in their system being processed.
