Got a letter about owing back city taxes and that there will be an offset but they didn't specify if its coming from my state or federal refund. Really confused about this whole thing and need to plan my finances. Anyone dealt with this before?
I checked my refund status so many times I got locked out of the system for security reasons. At least my state refund finally came through mail yesterday like the website said it would. Still no word on federal though and now I cant even check ๐
Filed my taxes on January 15th but theres zero movement. Can't even access my transcripts online. I know im affected by PATH but WMR doesn't even show processing status. Getting worried since its been weeks with no updates.
Filed my taxes January 12th and got the acceptance confirmation on January 17th. When I check Where's My Refund on the IRS site, it just says processing. No bars, no dates, nothing else. Anyone know what I should do or how long this might take?
Finally got my refund released after 8 months by working with a Tax Advocate. If your facing hardship dont wait around - get help from TAS they can actually move things along. They helped identify the hold up and got it fixed in 2 weeks after I provided proof of hardship (past due utility bills). Don't suffer in silence yall.

Call the Treasury Offset Program directly at 800-304-3107. They can tell you exactly what's happening with your refund and where the offset is going.
