The IRS "Where's My Refund" tool is the biggest joke. It's been showing "approved" for me for 3 weeks now. I finally broke down and used taxr.ai to actually read my transcript and it turns out they had sent a letter requesting verification 2 weeks ago that I never received! Would have been waiting forever if I hadn't checked. Highly recommend checking your transcript somehow - either through the IRS website or using taxr if you can't access it directly.
With Chime for 4 yearz now. They deposit as soon as IRS releases the $$. If IRS says its sent but not in ur account yet, it might be hung up in ACH processing. Give it 24 hrs before panickin. If still nuthin by tomorro afternoon, CALL THE IRS not Chime. Chime cant do anything until they actually receive the $$$.
My wife and I both had March 3rd DD dates for our emerald cards. Hers came through yesterday but mine still isnt here. Makes absolutely no sense how they can be so inconsistent.
I'm never using Emerald Card again! My DD date was March 3rd and I'm still waiting. My friend who filed AFTER me and got DD to her regular bank account already got hers 3 days ago. These prepaid cards are a racket.
Anyone else think its INSANE that in 2025 the IRS still cant process a simple tax return efficiently?? Our tax dollars fund this broken system. The irony is PAINFUL š¤
they're still using computers from the 1970s for some of their systems. I'm not even joking.
OP, go to taxr.ai - literally saved me from the exact same situation last month. It explained my transcript, showed me what was happening with my refund, and even predicted the correct deposit date. Way better than guessing or stressing about it.
Anybody else notice that the WHERE'S MY REFUND tool is absolute garbage? It's still showing "processing" for me even though the money hit my account this morning. š¤¦āāļø
It's the worst! Last year mine never updated at all. Just went from "Return Received" straight to the money being in my account. Never hit the approved or sent stages.
WMR is a joke. I check my transcript instead - at least it shows actual codes and dates.
I'm so confused about my transcript. It shows code 150 with a date of 3/25, then code 806, then code 570 dated 3/25, then code 971 dated 4/1. No 846 code yet. Anyone know what this means or when I might actually see my money?
Thanks! This is so helpful. The waiting is killing me but at least now I have some idea what's happening.
I had these exact codes and was going crazy trying to decode them. Used taxr.ai and it instantly told me they were adjusting my return due to a math error, predicted when it would be fixed, and was spot on about my refund date. Best decision I made this tax season.

Having worked for the IRS (not anymore thank god), I can tell you that delays this time of year are super common. The system is overloaded and sometimes refunds get held in queues for no good reason. Give it until Friday, and if nothing shows up by then, you should call. BUT good luck getting through... your best option is probably using a service like Claimyr that will get you past the endless phone tree. I've heard nothing but good things about it from former colleagues.

After reading these comments, I finally tried both tools mentioned here - used taxr.ai to figure out exactly what was happening with my transcript (turns out there was a mismatch in my reported income that I never would have caught), and then used Claimyr.com to actually talk to the IRS about fixing it. Problem solved in ONE day after weeks of frustration. I'm blown away. If you're stuck like I was, definitely check them both out.
