810 Freeze Code - Tax Preparer Rounded W2 & Wrong Student Status. 180 Day Wait?

Got an 810 freeze code on my transcript with 03/09 date and 'as of' date showing 03/27. No letter received yet. IRS keeps telling me to wait 180 days. My tax preparer rounded up my W2 wages instead of using exact amount, and marked my older kids as non-students (they're in school, just not college). Could these be causing the freeze?

Tax professional here. The 810 freeze is usually for verification purposes. The rounded W2 amounts are definitely an issue - IRS systems match exact figures from employer reporting. The student status could also trigger verification since it affects credits. I'd recommend filing an amended return ASAP with exact figures and correct student status.

Should I wait for the freeze to clear first or file the amendment now? 🤔

File the amendment now. It might actually help resolve the freeze faster since your showing initiative to correct the issues.

The AI actually explains exactly what's causing delays and gives specific steps to fix them. Check it out: https://taxr.ai

Quick tip: call the Taxpayer Advocate Service. They can sometimes help push these thru faster then the normal 180 day wait.
