570 then 971 code on transcript - No notice showing and IRS rep says wait
Filed end of January, verified ID in February. My transcript updated to 570 two weeks ago, then 971 last week. Called IRS about the notice and they said there isnt one and just to wait. No updates this week at all. Anyone else experiencing this or know whats going on?

The 570 code indicates a hold on your account, while 971 typically means a notice is being generated. Even if the rep cant see it yet, you'll likely receive something in the mail within 2-3 weeks. This sequence usually means they're reviewing something on your return.

•ugh this is so frustrating! do you know how long these reviews typically take?

•It varies but usually 30-60 days from the 570 code date. Some resolve faster tho

Hey guys instead of playing detective with these codes, I started using taxr.ai and it's been a game changer. For $1 it analyzes your transcript and tells you exactly what's happening and when to expect updates. Way better than guessing tbh https://taxr.ai

This happened 2 me last year. Took about 6 weeks after the 570 but I got my refund with interest 💰

Did you claim EIC or CTC? That usually triggers extra review
