570 Code on transcript - No letter received, IRS rep cant see verification reason
Filed end of January and my transcripts just updated with a 570 code. IRS says they mailed a letter 2 days ago for verification but the rep couldnt even tell me what needs to be verified. Nothing showing in my online account either. Rep mentioned something about auto-adjustment and extra verification for EIC/ACTC claims this year. Dont buy the PATH act excuse another rep gave me.

The 570 code is a freeze on your account pending review. Its common this year due to increased verification procedures for refundable credits. Keep checking your mail - the letter should arrive within 2 weeks. Most likely they're verifying income or dependents for EIC qualification. Don't call back until you get the letter, the reps can't do anything until then.
