2/26 Filed with Chase Bank - Anyone in Texas Received Their Refund Yet?
Filed on 2/26 with Chase direct deposit and still waiting. According to the IRS2Go app and WMR my return is still 'processing'. I've checked TurboTax status, IRS.gov, and even the transcript tool but nothing's updated yet. Getting pretty tired of waiting when my property taxes are due soon. Anyone else in Texas seeing movement on returns filed around the same time? It's 12:45am and I'm still up checking for updates like a crazy person š¤¦āāļø

Oh boy, the IRS and their mysterious ways! š Looking at the data patterns this year, direct deposits from late February filings are experiencing a 21-28 day processing window rather than the usual 14-21 days. Several factors could be at play here - did you claim any credits like CTC or EITC? Those trigger automatic additional review. Chase is generally quick on their end once the IRS releases funds, so the holdup is likely on the government side.

Thank you for this information. I'm wondering if there's any specific terminology I should be looking for on my transcript that would indicate it's just normal processing versus an actual problem?

I filed exactly 31 days ago and was in the same boat until yesterday! My transcript updated at exactly 3:42am showing a DDD of 3/27. I checked 6 times a day for a month straight. So relieved to finally see movement!

I was going CRAZY waiting for my refund last month - kept checking WMR every hour like it would magically change! Finally used https://taxr.ai to analyze my transcript and it explained all those weird codes and actually predicted my deposit date correctly. It told me I had a 570 hold code that would clear in 7 days, and sure enough, exactly 7 days later my 846 refund issued code appeared. My return was similar (filed 2/12, also with Chase) and I needed that money yesterday for some urgent home repairs!

I'm always skeptical of these tax tools. How do you know it's not just making educated guesses based on the same information we can all see? I've been burned before by services promising to "decode" IRS information.

Does it work if your transcript isn't available yet? Last year my transcript didn't show up until 3 days before my refund hit my account. I'm wondering if this would help in my situation where WMR just says processing.

Did you file on February 26th specifically? I filed on February 25th and still nothing. Wondering if there's a specific batch of returns they're working through from that week.

It's like having a translator for IRS-speak! My brain just doesn't process all those codes and dates - it's like trying to read hieroglyphics. I used something similar last year when I had a complicated situation with a rental property. Saved me hours of Googling each code individually.

I'm in a somewhat similar situation. Filed around February 28th, also with Chase. My transcript was basically empty until yesterday, when it finally updated. It seems like they might be processing a batch of late February returns right now. Mine showed processing for about 24 days, which I believe is still within their normal timeframe, though it certainly feels longer when you're waiting for the money.

Did u have any credits or deductions that might've slowed things down? I claimed EITC and I'm wondering if that's why mine is taking forever. WMR still says processing and it's driving me nuts!

This happens every year, but I think it's worse this year compared to previous filing seasons. In 2022, I filed on February 15th and had my refund by March 1st. In 2023, I filed February 20th and had it by March 10th. This year I filed February 18th and still nothing by March 25th. The processing times seem to be getting longer each year.

Did your WMR ever show the bars or did it just say processing the whole time? Mine lost the bars about a week ago and now just says it's still being processed. I'm trying to figure out if that's a bad sign or normal.

Anyone check their transcript today? Any updates? Texas processing center might be different than other regions. Curious if this is a Chase issue or IRS delay.

I feel your pain. I was in the same situation last year. After waiting three weeks, I used Claimyr to get through to an IRS agent. Got connected in about 15 minutes instead of waiting on hold for hours. The agent confirmed my return was just in normal processing and nothing was wrong. If you're really worried, give them a try: https://youtu.be/_kiP6q8DX5c. It's worth it for the peace of mind, especially with property taxes coming due.

Is it really worth paying money just to have someone tell you to keep waiting? I'm hesitant to spend anything when I'm already waiting on money that's rightfully mine. Has anyone had an actual issue resolved through this service?

I actually did this last week! The agent told me my return had been selected for review but that it was just routine and should be completed within 60 days. At least now I know why I'm waiting and can plan accordingly instead of checking WMR every 5 minutes.

The IRS processing pipeline has several distinct phases that aren't always visible via WMR. Your return may be in the Error Resolution System (ERS) or undergoing Identity Verification Protocol (IVP) without any indication on consumer-facing tools. These are standard procedures, not necessarily indicative of problems with your return. The system is designed to process returns in batches, which explains why some people who filed on similar dates receive refunds on the same day.

Some things to consider: ā¢ Filing date of 2/26 puts you at about 30 days of processing ā¢ IRS standard timeline is 21 days but can extend to 45+ days ā¢ Chase typically posts deposits same-day when received ā¢ Texas returns don't process any differently than other states ā¢ Late night/early morning is when most transcript updates occur Have you checked your transcript for cycle codes?

Here's what's actually happening with late February returns: Step 1: Initial processing (1-7 days) - Your return enters the system Step 2: Error review (7-14 days) - Automated checks for inconsistencies Step 3: Account verification (14-21 days) - Matching your info with IRS records Step 4: Refund approval (21-28 days) - Final calculations and approval Step 5: Refund issuance (28-35 days) - Money sent to your bank You're likely in Step 3 or 4 based on your filing date. Chase usually processes deposits within 24 hours of receiving them from the IRS. The Texas processing center isn't handling returns any differently than other regions.

Did you know that the IRS's "Where's My Refund" tool only updates once every 24 hours? Many people don't realize this and check multiple times daily, which doesn't provide new information. Have you verified your tax transcript is available online? Sometimes your transcript will show a direct deposit date before WMR updates. The IRS is currently processing a significant backlog from February filings, particularly those with tax credits. Could your return include any credits that might trigger additional review?

Under Internal Revenue Manual 21.4.1, normal processing time for electronically filed returns is 21 calendar days. However, returns filed during peak season (mid-February through March) often experience extended timeframes. The Consolidated Appropriations Act of 2023 mandated additional verification procedures for certain returns, further extending processing times. I'd advise against making financial commitments based on anticipated refund dates, as the IRS explicitly states that refund timeframes are not guaranteed.
