No confirmation emails from external claim site - lost half my benefits despite meeting deadline

I've been submitting my weeks through that external DEO site (not directly in CONNECT) for the past month, and I never receive any confirmation emails. Last week I submitted my work search activities by the Friday deadline, but when I checked my account yesterday, I only received $126 instead of my usual $275! The payment summary shows they didn't count three of my work searches even though I definitely submitted them before the cutoff. Has anyone else had this issue with the external site not properly recording submissions? I'm literally down to my last $100 until next payment and have rent coming up. Do I need to switch back to submitting directly through CONNECT instead?

OMG same thing happened to me last month!!! The external site is GARBAGE compared to CONNECT. I submitted all my work searches and then got $0 for one week because they said I didn't meet requirements. I called DEO like 35 times before giving up. The external site never gives any kind of receipt or confirmation number so you have NO PROOF you actually submitted anything. Switch back to CONNECT asap!!

Seriously?? That's awful. Did you ever get that money back or is it just gone forever? I can't afford to lose payments like this...

Take screenshots every time you submit on the external site. That's what I do. Then if they try to say you didn't do it, you have proof.

That's smart, I should have been doing that. But does DEO actually accept screenshots as proof if there's a dispute?

The external site (RA Continued Claims) doesn't send confirmation emails by design, which is definitely frustrating. What's happening is that the data transfer between that system and the main CONNECT database isn't always reliable. Here's what you need to do: 1. Call DEO and specifically request a 'work search verification review' for the week ending 5/30 2. Explain that you submitted before the deadline but the system didn't record it properly 3. Ask them to check the timestamp logs of your submission 4. Request retroactive credit for the missing amount In the future, I'd recommend switching back to claiming through CONNECT directly if possible. The external site is primarily for people who can't access their CONNECT account for some reason. The direct CONNECT system has better validation and gives you those confirmation numbers.

Good luck trying to get through to a DEO agent lol. I spent 3 days trying before I gave up.

If you need to get through to DEO quickly, I was in the same situation last week and used Claimyr to reach a live agent in about 20 minutes instead of spending hours redialing. Their system calls DEO for you and then calls you when they get an agent. Saved me from missing out on a payment. Check out how it works at claimyr.com or see their demo video: https://youtu.be/UzW_hbUy-ss?si=zORd51jeq1GX5Ldj - totally worth it in emergency situations like yours.

Thanks for this tip. Normally I'd just keep calling myself, but I literally can't afford to miss this money so might try this if I can't get through tomorrow.

For what its worth the external site screwed me over too. I switched back to using my CONNECT portal directly and no issues since then. The external site doesnt sync right with the main system sometimes and then your stuck with no way to prove you did the work searches. They need to fix this!!

This is actually a known issue that DEO is supposedly working on fixing. The external site was designed as a temporary solution during the system upgrade last year but they've kept it running despite the sync problems. If you use the external site, you should always log into CONNECT 24-48 hours after submitting to verify your work searches were properly recorded. If they weren't, you can add them manually in CONNECT before the weekly deadline.

You can actually request a formal appeal for this. I had to do it when I lost a full week's payment due to a "failure to report work search" that I definitely submitted. Fill out the appeal form in CONNECT under the "Determination, Pending Issues and Decision Summary" section. Look for the determination that reduced your benefit amount and click the appeal button. You have 20 days from the determination date to file. The system is frustrating but they should reinstate the full amount if you can explain what happened during the appeal. Meanwhile, definitely switch back to direct CONNECT submissions!

Thank you! I'll try calling first but will definitely file an appeal if I can't get it resolved that way. Does the appeal process take a long time? I'm worried about how long I'll have to wait for that money.

The lack of confirmation emails is definitely a design flaw in the external system. To prevent this from happening again: 1. Always claim through direct CONNECT if possible 2. If you must use the external site, take screenshots of every page of your submission 3. Log into CONNECT within 48 hours to verify your submissions were recorded properly 4. If they weren't recorded, you can manually add them in CONNECT if it's before the weekly deadline For your current situation, you need to speak with a claims specialist specifically. Regular DEO agents can't always help with this type of issue. When you call, immediately ask to be transferred to a claims specialist who can review work search verification issues.

This is good advice but goodluck getting a specialist on the phone. I waited on hold for 2 hours last time only to be told the specialists were all busy and I'd get a callback that never came 🙄

Update: I just checked with a friend who works at DEO, and they confirmed there was actually a system glitch with the external site for submissions on 5/29-5/30. Several claimants were affected. They're supposedly processing a batch correction for everyone impacted, so you might see the additional money appear in your account within 3-5 business days without having to take action. I'd still recommend calling to make sure you're on the list for the correction.

Wow, that's actually a huge relief if true! I'll definitely still call to confirm I'm included in that batch correction. Thanks for the inside info!
