Forced to ID.me verify twice - DEO account locked right after claiming weeks!

Seriously frustrated right now! I finally got around to claiming my first two weeks today after waiting for my approval to come through. Everything seemed to go fine - the system accepted my work searches and I got the confirmation screen. But when I tried to log back in about 2 hours later to double-check when payment might arrive, my CONNECT account was completely locked! Had to go through the whole ID.me verification AGAIN even though I just did this last month when I initially filed. Has this happened to anyone else? Is DEO's system just glitchy or should I be worried someone tried to hack my account? The verification went through fine the second time, but now I'm paranoid about whether my claim weeks actually processed or if I'll get paid. This is my first time on unemployment so I have no idea if this is normal procedure or not!

This happened to me too! Had to verify ID twice in the same week. DEO systems are a MESS.

Did your payments still process okay after the second verification? That's what I'm most worried about.

This is unfortunately becoming more common due to increased security measures. I had to verify through ID.me THREE times in a two-month period. The system flags accounts for additional verification when it detects any irregular logins (different device, unusual time pattern, etc). Your already-submitted claim weeks should still process normally - the ID verification is separate from claim processing. Just make sure you can log back into CONNECT now and verify your claim status shows 'processed' and not 'pending.'

Thank you! I was able to log back in and everything looks normal. The weeks show as 'processed' so hopefully that means payment is coming. It's just so nerve-wracking when things like this happen!

My cousin said the same thing happened to him last month. DEO has crazy security now cause of all the fraud during covid. He got paid fine tho.

I've been dealing with Florida unemployment for years (unfortunately) and I've noticed this happen more frequently lately. It's incredibly frustrating but usually doesn't affect your payments. However, if you want to MAKE SURE someone at DEO knows about this issue, good luck reaching them through regular channels. I spent 4 days straight calling and getting disconnected before I found Claimyr (claimyr.com). They have a system that gets you through to an actual human at DEO without the endless redials. They even have a video showing how it works: https://youtu.be/UzW_hbUy-ss?si=zORd51jeq1GX5Ldj. Worth it when you're dealing with weird verification loops and need to confirm your account is okay.

Does that actually work? I thought nothing could get thru to DEO lol

Yeah it legit works. I was skeptical too but was desperate after my account got locked 3 times in two months. Got through in about 20 minutes compared to days of trying on my own.

CONNECT is the absolute WORST system ever created!! I had to verify FOUR times last claim period! The DEO is deliberately making this difficult so people give up. You'll probably get locked out again next time you claim weeks too. They're hoping you'll just stop filing. I document EVERYTHING now with screenshots because they 'lost' my work searches twice even though I entered them correctly.

This isn't accurate. The system isn't deliberately designed to be difficult - it's just poorly implemented. The multiple ID verifications are a security feature, not a deterrent strategy. I do agree with documenting everything though - that's just good practice with any government system.

did u use a diferent computer or phone to login? sometmes that triggers the system to think ur someone else. happened to me when i used my moms ipad instead of my phone.

Actually, yes! I used my laptop to claim weeks and then tried to check on my phone later. That must be what triggered it. Good to know for the future.

The multiple ID.me verification requirement is related to DEO's enhanced fraud prevention system implemented in late 2024. Here's what's actually happening: The system uses login patterns, device recognition, and timing of activities to flag potential unauthorized access. When you claim weeks for the first time or access from a new device, it often triggers additional verification. Your situation is actually quite common - about 30% of claimants experience at least one additional verification request during their claim period. The good news is that this doesn't affect payment processing as long as you complete the verification successfully. Your claim weeks are stored separately from the login security system. To avoid this in the future: 1. Use the same device consistently 2. Clear your browser cookies less frequently 3. Try to log in during similar times of day 4. Enable the 'remember this device' option if offered If you experience this repeatedly, you can request a security profile reset by calling DEO directly.

This is incredibly helpful, thank you! I'll definitely stick to one device from now on. I'm relieved to hear it's common and not something specific to my account.

Except when you call DEO directly you can NEVER get through! I tried for TWO WEEKS straight!

That's unfortunately true about the phone lines. If you experience this problem repeatedly and need to speak with someone, using a service like Claimyr as mentioned above or trying to reach out through your local CareerSource office are better options than direct calls.
