CONNECT application stuck on last page - keeps rejecting job history (Chrome browser issue?)

I'm about to throw my laptop out the window! Been trying to complete my initial unemployment application in CONNECT for THREE DAYS and I'm ready to scream. Every time I get to the final employment history page and hit submit, it bounces back saying I'm missing information for my last employer - even though I've filled out EVERYTHING multiple times! I've tried submitting at least 8 times now with the exact same result. It's showing all the red error messages like I didn't enter anything, but I definitely did. I'm using Chrome browser - could that be the problem? Has anyone else dealt with this nightmare? Any suggestions before I completely lose it?

I had the EXACT same issue last month! For me, the problem was that I was typing too much text in the 'reason for separation' field. CONNECT has weird character limits that don't show up until you try to submit. Try shortening your answers (especially the separation reason) to just a few words instead of full sentences. Also, make sure you're not using any special characters like apostrophes or hyphens - those can cause the system to glitch too.

THANK YOU! I'll try that right now. I did write a pretty detailed explanation about the layoff... didn't realize there might be character limits. Will update if it works!

Good idea - I'll download Firefox if shortening the text doesn't work. Thanks!

This is a common CONNECT problem that DEO hasn't fixed in years. Besides what others suggested, try these troubleshooting steps: 1. Clear your browser cache completely 2. Disable any ad blockers or extensions 3. Make sure ALL date fields are in MM/DD/YYYY format 4. Double-check that your employment dates don't overlap at all 5. Try completing it between 7-9am when the system has less traffic If none of that works, you'll probably need to speak with a DEO agent directly. I found a service called Claimyr that can actually get you through to a real person at DEO without spending hours on hold. They have a video showing how it works: https://youtu.be/UzW_hbUy-ss?si=zORd51jeq1GX5Ldj and their website is claimyr.com. I was skeptical but it actually worked for me when I had a similar issue.

Thanks for all these suggestions! I've tried clearing cache and checking dates but will try the other steps. If I still can't get through, I might try that Claimyr service - at this point I'd do anything to get this application submitted.

i had teh same problem but turns out I was missing the zip code for my employer even tho I swear I entered it like 10 times. double check EVERY field even the ones you think you filled out

This is good advice. The CONNECT system doesn't always clearly indicate which fields are causing the error. Sometimes it's the phone number format (needs to be exactly ###-###-#### with hyphens) or a zip code field that looks filled but isn't saving properly. Go through each employer detail field by field.

THE WHOLE DEO SYSTEM IS DESIGNED TO MAKE YOU GIVE UP!!!! I spent 2 WEEKS trying to submit my application before it finally went through. Then another 6 weeks in "pending" before getting approved. Florida's unemployment system is DELIBERATELY broken to keep their numbers low. Try incognito mode or a completely different device if you can. Sometimes it works on mobile when desktop browsers fail. And be prepared for more frustration even after you get the application submitted, because that's just the beginning of the DEO nightmare.

100% agree. system is rigged against us

UPDATE: IT WORKED! It was actually a combination of things. I shortened all my text fields like @helpful_user suggested, switched to Firefox like @quicktip said, AND I found that one of my employer phone numbers had parentheses around the area code which apparently was causing issues. After fixing all that, it finally submitted! Now I'm just praying my claim doesn't get stuck in adjudication forever. Thanks everyone for your help!

Great news! Just a heads up, make sure you start completing your work search requirements right away (5 activities per week) and claiming your weeks on time. The CONNECT system won't remind you when it's time to claim, and missing weeks can cause all sorts of problems. Put reminders on your calendar now!

I bet the problem is your last employer info. My brother had the same issue and it turned out he needed to use the LEGAL company name (like "Walmart Stores East, LP" instead of just "Walmart"). Try looking at your W-2 or paystub for the exact legal name of your last employer. The system tries to match it with their records.

This is an excellent point. The DEO system cross-references employer names with their database, and if you use a common name instead of the legal entity name, it can cause validation errors without clearly telling you that's the problem.
