UI benefits exhausted after one payment due to employer name mix-up - help!
Has anyone else had issues with their unemployment benefits being shown as exhausted after just one payment? I just got off the phone with them and apparently they're showing two different names for the same employer on my account. This is so frustrating! I know I still have benefits left, but the system is saying otherwise. Anyone know how to fix this or had a similar experience?

Ugh, the unemployment system is such a mess rn. I had a similar issue where they mixed up my employers. It took forever to get it sorted out. Have you tried calling them?

Yeah, I've been trying to call for days but can't get through. It's like playing the lottery just to talk to someone 🙄

Pro tip: call right when they open. I got through after only 30 mins on hold that way.

I found a way to actually get someone on the phone. I used this site's (claimyr.com) calling tool that dials the phone menu, stays on hold, waits for a live agent to pick up, then sends the call to my phone. It does cost $20, but it works. Here's a video about it: https://youtu.be/W4S1W6V2hOQ

Sounds too good to be true. Has anyone else tried this?

I know it sounds sketchy, but I swear it worked for me. Saved me hours of frustration. Worth every penny imho.

Can you explain more about how it works? Is it legit?

Sure! It's basically an automated system that calls and navigates the phone tree for you. When it detects a human, it calls your phone and connects you. Totally legit, just saves you the hassle of waiting on hold.

This happened to me too! Turns out my previous employer had changed their company name, but it wasn't updated in the system. I had to provide documentation to prove it was the same company. Took about 3 weeks to resolve. Hang in there!

Have you tried checking your account online? Sometimes the system updates there before they can tell you over the phone. Might be worth a shot!

This is why we need to overhaul the entire unemployment system. It's clearly not equipped to handle the volume of claims, especially with all the pandemic-related job losses. We should be writing to our representatives about this!

Totally agree. But good luck getting politicians to care about unemployment systems until the next crisis hits 🙄

Here's what you need to do: 1. Document everything. Take screenshots of your online account showing the discrepancy. 2. Gather any paperwork from your employer showing the correct company name. 3. Write a clear, concise letter explaining the situation. 4. Submit all of this through the online portal AND mail hard copies to the unemployment office. 5. Follow up every week until it's resolved. I went through something similar and this approach finally got it sorted. It's a pain, but persistence is key. Don't give up! Also, if you're really stuck, consider reaching out to your state representative. Sometimes they can help push things along.

Have you tried reaching out on Twitter? Sometimes their social media team is more responsive than the phone lines.
