EDD UI claim stuck in pending for 1+ month, automated system says no claim - help?
I filed for unemployment benefits over a month ago and still haven't received any payment. The website shows my claim as "pending processing," but when I call and enter my social security number, the automated system says there are no pending claims. Has anyone else experienced this? It's so frustrating and I'm running out of options. Any advice on how to get this resolved?

I found a way to solve pending unemployment claim issues, watch this: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=NjhMFNoOXgY

Have you tried faxing your documents? I know it sounds crazy in 2023, but I've heard some people have had success with that method. Apparently, faxed docs get processed faster sometimes. 🤷♂️

I know, right? But hey, if it works, it works! 😅

It might sound outdated, but sometimes older methods can cut through the digital clutter. Worth a try if you're out of options!

Ugh, I'm in the same boat. Been waiting for 6 weeks now. The system is so broken, it's ridiculous. Have you tried contacting your local representative? I've heard that can sometimes help speed things up.

That’s actually a great suggestion. I’ve heard from others that their local representatives were able to push their claims forward after they reached out. Definitely worth a try if you're stuck in limbo!

Here's what you need to do to get this resolved: 1. Document everything: Keep a log of all your attempts to contact EDD, including dates, times, and any reference numbers. 2. Check your UI Online account: Make sure all your information is correct and up-to-date. Sometimes small errors can cause big delays. 3. Contact EDD directly: Call early in the morning, right when they open. Be persistent and try multiple days if necessary. 4. Reach out to your state representative: They can often help expedite claims that are stuck in the system. 5. Consider filing an appeal: If your claim has been pending for an unreasonable amount of time, you may be able to file an appeal. 6. Use social media: Sometimes tweeting at the EDD's official account can get their attention. Remember, the system is overwhelmed right now, so patience is key. But don't give up - you're entitled to these benefits!

This is great advice! I'd add that joining Facebook groups for unemployment support can be really helpful too. Lots of people sharing tips and experiences.

Thank you so much for this detailed response! I'll definitely try reaching out to my state rep. Fingers crossed 🤞

I agree with the social media tip. Some folks have had success tagging their local news channels to bring attention to their issue. It’s worth trying if you’re getting nowhere.

Have you tried the "Ask EDD" feature on the website? Sometimes you can get a response faster that way than by calling. It's not perfect, but it's another option to try.

I’ve had limited success with the "Ask EDD" feature, but it’s definitely worth trying. Sometimes the written responses are more comprehensive than phone conversations.

Have you checked if there's a flag on your account? Sometimes they put a stop payment flag and don't even notify you. It's like they WANT us to fail 🙄

That’s a good point. When I finally got through, I found out my account had a 'stop payment' indicator for a minor issue they failed to notify me about. Double-checking with a live agent might reveal this.

I had a similar issue. Turns out there was a problem with my identity verification. Did you complete the ID.me process? If not, that might be why it's stuck in pending.

Yeah, I did the ID.me thing right away. Still nothing 😫 Did you have to do anything else after that?

After ID.me, I had to wait about 2 weeks. Then I called and spoke to a tier 2 rep who manually pushed my claim through. It's a pain, but keep calling!

Sounds like getting through to a tier 2 rep might be key. I've heard they have more authority to help resolve these issues quickly.

Have you tried asking the EDD staff about any pending issues directly by visiting an EDD office? While it may involve long waits, physically being present can sometimes expedite solutions.

That's a good point. Once, I went to the EDD office and got more clarity in person than over the phone or online.

This might sound crazy, but have you tried sending a handwritten letter? My cousin swears it worked for him. Said something about how it stands out in the digital age. Worth a shot, I guess? 🤷♀️✉️

It might sound odd, but in an age when digital communication is the norm, a physical letter can draw attention. Whatever works, right?

I found a method to get someone on the phone. I used this site's (claimyr.com) calling tool that dials the phone menu, stays on hold, waits for a live agent to pick up, then sends the call to my phone. It does cost $20, but it works. Here's the URL: https://claimyr.com

Sounds sketchy. Is this legit? Has anyone else tried it?

$20 just to talk to someone? That's highway robbery! 😡

I get the skepticism, but it honestly saved me so much time and frustration. Worth every penny IMO. And yeah, it's legit - there are reviews online if you wanna check.

I've heard of Claimyr being used successfully by others as well. While it does cost money, for some people, the investment is worth the reduction in stress and time spent waiting.

I hate to be that person, but have you double-checked that you're eligible? I thought I was good to go, but turns out I didn't have enough work history in my base period. Took me forever to figure that out. 😓

Yeah, I'm definitely eligible. I worked full-time for 3 years before getting laid off. Thanks for the suggestion tho!

Bruh, the EDD is a joke. I've been waiting 3 months and still nothing. At this point, I'm considering selling my kidney on the black market. Anyone know the going rate? 🤔💰

I feel your frustration. It’s tough when you’re not getting the support you need from systems that are supposed to be helping us.
