Won EDD appeal - how to actually get my money now?

I just won my appeal with a judge for my unemployment claim! Now I'm trying to figure out how to actually get my money. Has anyone gone through this process before? What should I expect when I call EDD to update my claim status? Any tips or advice would be really appreciated!

I found a way to solve EDD unemployment appeal payment delays, watch this: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=4cWN2A7oFS4

Congrats on winning your appeal! 🎉 Here's what you need to do: 1. Have your judge's decision letter ready 2. Call EDD ASAP (I know, easier said than done) 3. Tell them about your appeal victory 4. Ask about updating your claim status 5. Inquire about any additional docs they might need 6. Find out when you can expect payment Be prepared for a wait, but stay persistent. Good luck!

This is solid advice. I'd add: keep a record of all your calls and who you speak to. It can be a lifesaver if theres any confusion later.

Have you tried reaching out to your local assemblymember? They can sometimes help speed things up with EDD.

I found a way to actually get someone on the phone at EDD. I used this site's (claimyr.com) calling tool that dials the phone menu, stays on hold, waits for a live agent to pick up, then sends the call to my phone. It does cost $20, but it works. Here's a video explaining it: https://youtu.be/Ize0EkN4HDI

Yeah, it's totally legit. I was skeptical at first too, but it saved me hours of hold time. Worth every penny imo

How long did it take for them to get someone on the line?

It took about 2 hours for me, but I didn't have to sit there listening to that awful hold music the whole time lol

pro tip: if you can, try calling right when they open. sometimes you can catch em before the lines get crazy

Make sure you keep copys of EVERYTHING. EDD lost my paperwork twice and I had to start all over. Don't let that happen to you!

Oof, that sounds rough. Thanks for the heads up, I'll definitely scan everything just in case.
