SDI payments stopped for 2+ weeks, can't reach anyone at EDD. Help!

Hey everyone, I'm having trouble with my State Disability payments. It's been over 2 weeks since I last got paid and I can't seem to reach anyone on the phone. I tried calling the main number and got transferred to a different line (800-480-3287) but still no luck getting through to an agent. Anyone else dealing with this or have any advice on how to actually talk to someone?

I found a way to solve disability payment delays, watch this: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=6AMzolrD5ic

Ugh, I feel your pain. The EDD system is a total nightmare rn. I've been trying to get through for weeks too. It's like they don't want us to actually get our benefits 🙄

fr fr its like they purposely make it impossible to reach anyone. government efficiency at its finest 🤡

Have you tried calling right when they open? I heard thats the best time to get through

Yeah, I've tried that. No luck. It's always either busy or I'm on hold forever and then get disconnected. 😤

I found a way to actually get someone on the phone! I used this site called claimyr.com. It's a calling tool that dials the phone menu, stays on hold, waits for a live agent to pick up, then sends the call to your phone. It does cost $20, but it works. Here's a video about it: https://youtu.be/Ize0EkN4HDI

Sounds too good to be true. Has anyone else tried this?

20 bucks? Thats kinda steep just to talk to someone...

I know it sounds sketchy, but I swear it worked for me. After weeks of trying, I finally got through to an actual person. Worth every penny imo

How long did you have to wait once you used the service?

It took about an hour and a half, but I just went about my day and they called me when an agent was on the line. Way better than being stuck to my phone all day

Have you tried reaching out to your local assembly member's office? They sometimes have direct lines to EDD and can help push your case through.

I'm in the same boat, OP. It's been almost a month for me. I've tried everything - calling, emailing, even sent a freaking carrier pigeon 🕊️ (jk but at this point I might). The system is broken af

lmao a carrier pigeon might actually be faster than EDD's response time 💀

Okay, let me break this down for you. I've been through this rodeo before and here's what I've learned: 1. Persistence is key. You gotta keep calling, even if it feels pointless. 2. Try calling at off-peak hours. Early morning (right when they open) or late afternoon can sometimes work. 3. If you get through and they transfer you, DO NOT HANG UP. Sometimes they transfer you to a "dead line" but if you stay on, you might get picked up. 4. Check your online account regularly. Sometimes they need additional info but don't tell you. 5. If all else fails, contact your local state representative. They can sometimes expedite things. 6. Document everything. Every call, every letter, every online message. This can help if you need to escalate. Hang in there. I know it's frustrating as hell, but you'll get through eventually. The system sucks, but don't give up!

Wow, thank you so much for this detailed response! I'll definitely try calling at different times and contacting my rep if needed. Really appreciate the advice 🙏

have u checked ur claim status online? sometimes there holding payments cuz they need more info but dont bother telling u 🙄

I did check online, but everything looks normal there. No pending issues or requests for info that I can see. It's so confusing!

This might sound crazy, but have you tried faxing them? I know, welcome to 1995 lol. But seriously, I got a response within a week after faxing my issue.
