SDI maternity leave extension: No option to certify for continued payments after doctor submitted paperwork. Help!

Ugh, the SDI system is such a mess! I had a similar issue last year. Have you tried calling them directly? It's a pain, but sometimes that's the only way to get things moving.

I found a way to actually get someone on the phone. I used this site's (claimyr.com) calling tool that dials the phone menu, stays on hold, waits for a live agent to pick up, then sends the call to my phone. It does cost $20, but it works. Here's a video about it: https://youtu.be/Ize0EkN4HDI

Have you checked your spam folder? Sometimes important emails from SDI end up there. Also, make sure your contact info is up to date in the system.

This happened to me too! Turns out there was a glitch in their system. I had to go to the local office in person to get it sorted out. It sucks, but it might be your best bet.

Here's what you need to do: 1. Document everything. Take screenshots of your account showing no certification option. 2. Write down all the dates - when you applied, when your doctor submitted paperwork, etc. 3. If you can't get through on the phone, try their social media. Sometimes they respond faster there. 4. As a last resort, contact your local state representative. They can sometimes intervene on your behalf. 5. Keep certifying by paper if possible. You can download the form from their website and mail it in. Hang in there! The system is frustrating, but persistence pays off.

This is why we need better systems for parental leave. Other countries have it figured out, why can't we? 😤

I work in HR and deal with this stuff all the time. Sometimes there's a delay between when the doctor submits the paperwork and when it's processed in the system. Give it a few more days, and if nothing changes, definitely call or visit an office in person.

Am I the only one who thinks its ridiculous that we have to jump through so many hoops just to get the benefits we're entitled to? The whole system needs an overhaul imho
