I was laid off on 07/30 and couldn’t get through to file my claim until 08/22. So 08/22 is the “start date” of my claim. It wasn’t my fault I couldn’t get through to file so I did a back date request through ASKEDD and no response yet. Has this happened to any of you?

Usually Edd sends you email confirmation they received your request in days. If you haven’t received any thing yet over a week, I would call Edd to check a current status and update. Call Edd using claimyr with $5 discount (10 free call) https://join.claimyr.com/49a083 Copy and paste.

Hi Luis Same exact thing happen to my husband He was laid off in May but didn't file UI claim until June His benefit year was from 07/2020 07/2021 so he did NOT have to request a backdate but more so ask a Tier 2 rep to put the missing weeks available for him to certify. Then we got our money back. So FYI: got to tier 2 and he was really mean and short. Said my husband wasn’t entitled to anything and it’s not their fault their system wasn’t functioning. Basically, told my husband to go kick rocks. So heartbreaking.
