Got denied because of insufficient documents. I submitted the Voluntary Decleration of Parentage and the Verification Letter which were the only documents given by the hospital. Birth certificate was not available during the time I submitted my claim. Do I need to file an or will let me resubmit a qualifying document? I haven’t been paid in a month.

I found a way to solve reaching representatives quickly, watch this: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=mUNumD3JVtU

Hi Arnel, I would suggest calling and seeing you they can let you resubmit documents because appeals are a hassle and take months. :/ $5 discount for first time callers using Claimyr https://join.claimyr.com/be256b

Did your medical provider do their portion in the form? This website give you more information about PFL. https://edd.ca.gov/pdf_pub_ctr/de2501f-sample.pdf Let me know if you are able to see it.

I assume they have because they are only asking for a birth certificate which I have now, it just wasn’t ready when I submitted a claim. Really sucks

Got cha! Hoping you don’t have to go through the process and just able to send the birth certificate they needed! 🙏🏽

Hi Arnel! I went through a similar situation with documentation issues. Since you now have the birth certificate they originally requested, I'd recommend trying to resubmit it directly through your account online first before going the route. Sometimes they'll accept updated documentation without needing a formal appeal. If that doesn't work, definitely call them - appeals can take 2-3 months while a simple document resubmission might resolve it much faster. The key is getting through to someone who can manually review your case. Good luck!

@Dylan Cooper This is really helpful advice! I m'actually dealing with a similar documentation issue right now. Did you end up having to call or were you able to resubmit through the online portal? I m'wondering if there s'a specific section in the online account where you can upload additional documents after a denial. Also, how long did it take for them to review your resubmitted documents? I ve'been waiting almost 6 weeks now and getting pretty anxious about the whole process.
