Fee-free ATMs for EDD Money Network cards in North Highlands area?

Just got my first EDD payment loaded onto my Money Network card and I need to withdraw some cash ASAP for rent. I live in North Highlands and don't want to waste money on ATM fees. Anyone know which ATMs around here don't charge fees with the EDD card? Also, is there a daily withdrawal limit I should know about? Don't want to drive to multiple ATMs if I can only take out a certain amount in one day. Thanks in advance for any help!

For fee-free ATMs with your EDD Money Network card, you can use any Money Network ATM, Bank of America ATMs, or Allpoint network ATMs without fees. There's a Walmart in North Highlands with a Money Network ATM inside. The daily withdrawal limit is $1,000, but individual ATMs might have their own limits (usually around $300-$400 per transaction). You can also check the Money Network mobile app - it has an ATM locator feature that shows all the fee-free ATMs near you. That's probably easier than trying to memorize which ones work.

Thank you so much! Didn't even think about checking the app, downloading it now. Walmart is pretty close to me so that's perfect. Appreciate the info about the limits too.

Oh that's good to know! There's a 7-Eleven just a couple blocks from my apartment. Definitely easier than going all the way to Walmart. Thanks for the tip!

WATCH OUT FOR THE ATMS AT THE SMALL CORNER STORES!!! They charged me $4.50 fee last week even though the screen said "no fee for EDD cards" - total LIE!! And the Money Network people wouldn't refund it when I called to complain!! STICK WITH THE BANK ATMS OR WALMART!!!

To add to what others have said, you can also go inside any bank that has the Visa logo (since your Money Network card has Visa) and do a cash advance with the teller for free. Just tell them you want to do a cash advance with your Visa debit card. You'll need your PIN and ID. The advantage is you can withdraw your full balance if needed, not limited by ATM restrictions. Regarding limits: The card has a $1,000 daily ATM withdrawal limit, but as mentioned, individual ATMs often have their own limits (usually $300-400). There's also a $5,000 daily purchase limit for when you use it as a debit card at stores. Also, consider setting up direct deposit for future payments if you have a bank account. It's generally more convenient than the card.

Thanks for the detailed info! I didn't know I could go inside a bank for a cash advance with no fee - that's super helpful since I need to withdraw more than what a typical ATM allows. Might try that instead. And yes, I'm definitely going to set up direct deposit for future payments. Just need to wait until my actual bank account is in better standing.

if ur going to withdraw a lot of cash, be careful! i had my card skimmed at an atm last year and lost $800. edd took 6 weeks to investigate and reimburse me! better to use inside actual banks when possible or at least check the atm for any weird attachments before using

This is such an important warning! I work with financial fraud cases, and EDD cards are frequently targeted precisely because people often withdraw large amounts at once. Always check for skimming devices (wiggle the card reader, look for anything unusual), cover the keypad when entering your PIN, and try to use ATMs in well-lit, high-traffic areas or inside bank lobbies when possible. If anyone suspects fraud on their Money Network account, call the number on the back of the card immediately to report it, then follow up with EDD directly about your claim status.

I live in Citrus Heights which isn't too far from North Highlands and I always just go to the Bank of America on Greenback. Never charged me a fee for my EDD card and I've been on unemployment since October. Think the max I've taken out was like $600 at once but I split it into two transactions cause the ATM limit was $400 per transaction or something.

If you're having trouble reaching EDD to set up direct deposit or resolve any issues with your Money Network card, I recommend trying Claimyr (claimyr.com). I was struggling for weeks to get through on the phone to ask about changing to direct deposit, and Claimyr helped me connect with an EDD representative in about 20 minutes instead of spending days redialing. They have a video showing how it works: https://youtu.be/JmuwXR7HA10?si=TSwYbu_GOwYzt9km As for ATMs, I've found the Bank of America and MoneyPass network ATMs to be reliably fee-free with the EDD card. The withdrawal limit is $1,000 daily, but as others mentioned, individual ATMs often have lower per-transaction limits.

Update: Thanks everyone for the help! I ended up going to the Bank of America on Watt Ave and was able to withdraw $600 with no fees. Turns out that specific ATM has a $600 limit per transaction, but that was enough for what I needed today. I also downloaded the Money Network app which is actually pretty helpful for finding ATMs and checking my balance. Going to look into direct deposit for next time!

Glad it worked out! The Money Network app is definitely handy. For direct deposit, you'll need to log into your UI Online account and select the direct deposit option under payment preferences. Just make sure your bank account info is entered correctly because fixing errors can take a while.

i think u can also get cashback at grocery stores when u buy something with the edd card and they dont charge fees for that. i always just buy a candy bar at safeway and get $100 cashback

That's a good tip! There's a Safeway not far from me. Do you know if there's a limit on how much cash back you can get that way?
