EDD wants to interview me about potential ineligibility. What should I expect?
I just got a call from EDD saying they want me to do an interview in a few days. They didn't really explain why, but mentioned something about an issue that might make me ineligible for benefits. I'm kinda freaking out here. Has anyone else gone through this? What should I expect? Any advice on how to prepare?

I found a way to solve EDD interview anxiety issues, watch this: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=kJGhBgrfrFU

Ugh, been there done that. Don't panic, it's probably just a routine check. They do these interviews all the time to verify info. My advice? Be honest, have all ur docs ready, and don't volunteer extra info unless they ask. Good luck!

Thanks for the advice! What kind of docs should I have ready? I'm worried I might miss something important.

No prob! Def have ur ID, social security card, and any paperwork from ur last job (like pay stubs or termination letter). Also, if u have any medical stuff related to ur claim, bring that too. Better to have too much than not enough, ya know?

This is solid advice 💯 I'd also suggest writing down key dates like when u last worked, when u filed, etc. Makes it easier to answer questions without stumbling.

I had an interview last month. It was nerve-wracking but not as bad as I thought. The interviewer was actually pretty nice. Just stick to the facts and you'll be fine. Oh, and make sure ur in a quiet place for the call!

Anyone else feel like EDD is just trying to find reasons to deny people? 🙄 These interviews are BS. They should focus on helping people, not interrogating us like we're criminals.

Preach! 👏 The whole system is broken. We're already stressed about being unemployed, and then they pull this crap.

Hey OP, here's a detailed breakdown of what to expect and how to prepare: 1. Purpose: These interviews are usually to clarify discrepancies or gather more info. Common reasons include: - Verifying your last day of work - Checking why you left your job - Confirming your availability for work 2. Preparation: - Review your claim details - Gather all relevant documents (ID, pay stubs, separation letter, etc.) - Write down important dates and events - Prepare brief, clear explanations for any potential issues 3. During the interview: - Stay calm and professional - Answer questions honestly and concisely - If you're unsure about something, it's okay to say "I don't know" or ask for clarification - Take notes if possible 4. After the interview: - You'll usually get a decision within a few days to a couple of weeks - If denied, you have the right to appeal Remember, most people pass these interviews without issues. Good luck!

I found a way to actually get someone on the phone at EDD. I used this site's (claimyr.com) calling tool that dials the phone menu, stays on hold, waits for a live agent to pick up, then sends the call to my phone. It does cost $20, but it works. Here's a video explaining it: https://youtu.be/Ize0EkN4HDI

Sounds sketchy. Is this legit? Has anyone else tried it?

Yeah, it's totally legit. I was skeptical at first too, but it saved me hours of frustration. Worth every penny imo.

I've used it twice now. Worked both times. Beats calling 100 times a day and never getting through!

Hey, don't stress too much. I had an interview a while back and it turned out they just needed to confirm my last day of work cuz my employer reported a different date. No big deal in the end. Deep breaths, you got this!
