EDD payment timing after waiting period ends - when will money actually arrive?

congrats on getting past the waiting period! mine took like 2-3 business days to hit my account after showing paid. but sometimes banks hold it for a day or 2 also. you should be fine by rent day

The timing really depends on your bank. Once EDD shows 'paid' status, their part is done. Most banks process direct deposits within 1-3 business days, but some smaller credit unions might take longer. Important thing - weekends don't count as business days! If it showed paid on a Friday, might not hit until Tuesday or Wednesday.

When did you file your certification? EDD payment process is actually pretty consistent once you understand the steps: 1. You certify for benefits 2. EDD processes (usually 24-48 hrs) 3. Status changes to "paid" in system 4. Payment processed to whatever method you chose (direct deposit/debit card) 5. Bank processes deposit (1-3 business days) If you're in a real pinch for rent, you might consider switching to the Money Network debit card for future payments - those typically post within 24 hours of showing "paid" status in my experience.

BEWARE: I've had 'paid' status sit there for 10+ days with nothing hitting my account!!! EDD's system is COMPLETELY broken. When I finally got through to someone, they said my payment was 'pending review' despite showing PAID online! The website info is NOT reliable. Keep calling until you talk to a real person!!!

I had the same worry my first time! If your UI Online account shows 'paid' status, you're 90% there. For direct deposit, it typically takes 1-3 business days after the 'paid' status appears. Remember that the initial payment only covers one week since the first week is the unpaid waiting period. And yes, you can absolutely change your payment method mid-claim by going to Payment Preferences in UI Online and updating your selection. Just be aware that the change will apply to future payments, not ones already processing.

anyone else notice their payments come faster at the beginning of the month vs end of month? my last 3 payments that hit in early-mid month came in 2 days after showing paid but end-of-month ones took 4-5 days... wonder if EDD processes diff depending on volume or something??
